Gasket Mechanical fasten or seal that stop or block the space between two or more attached facade to avoid leaks while under compression. It can get from gasket paper, metal, cork, rubber, felt, silicon etc that allow mating surface to be connected to the machine parts where there are fill irregularities. It is commonly desirable that gaskets are made from material that is able to deform and fills tightly the space it is designed for. Some gasket may require application of sealant into gasket surface directly for it to properly function. There are also some gaskets that are made out of metal and base on a seating surface.
