After the General Elections in May 2011, AHTC was legally constituted on 27 May. Under the timeline drawn up by the Ministry of National Development, the handover of management to new Town Councils was to be done by 1 August 2011.AHTC also had the task of putting in place new computer and accounting systems. Given the urgency of the timelines above, and the overriding concern that Town Council services should not be disrupted to the detriment of the Aljunied-Hougang residents

Roles & Responsibilities

Maintenance:

Maintenance of common property such as void decks, common corridors and car parks
Maintenance of mechanical and electrical installations such as lifts, water pumps, switch rooms and lightings
Provision of repairs caused by general wear and tear and major cyclical works such as repairs to estate amenities, re-painting of blocks and re-roofing
Provision and upgrading of amenities such as linkways, lift lobbies, playgrounds and residents' corners
Implement the Interim Upgrading Programme for HDB flats

Enforcement Actions - These will be taken against:

Illegal parking of motor vehicles at common property
Illegal displays of signs and banners
Illegal plucking of fruits and shrubs
Indiscriminate dumping of unwanted items
Pilferage of Town Council's water and electricity
Vandalism of Town Council's properties

Conservancy and Horticulture

Upkeep of cleanliness of common property
Provision of free bulky removal services
Maintain the landscaped grounds within the estate

Payment

Collection of service and conservancy charges (SC / CC)
Collection of fees and charges for the use of common property such as the use of void decks for funerals, weddings etc
Collection of fees for permits issued, such as Temporary Occupational Licences (TOL)

The services are only available to HDB residents residing in Aljunied GRC.
The services are available only during office hours, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on weekdays, and 8.30 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays.

Residents are under no obligation to engage the services of these contractors.

All arrangements are made between you and the contractor and the Town Council will not in any way receive any commission through this service. Hence, the Town Council assumes no liability in respect of any unsatisfactorily service that may arise.
