I am sure that you have heard of the so called "wonder weight loss drug" Hoodia? If not, you have probably been on another planet for the last few years! So, if you have heard of it have you tried it? Tell me, did it work? I am going to reveal some things you need to know about Hoodia in this article and some dangers involved with taking it.
Firstly, you should understand that Hoodia has become well known not because it is a "wonder drug" but simply because the manufacturers spend millions on advertising instead of research and development.
Unfortunately, many people fall for the hype in advertising when it comes to weight loss and in nearly all cases it simply isn't true. All these fad diets and "wonder pills" simply do not work and certainly they will never offer you a fast solution to your weight problems. Remember now, the only way you can lose weight is through diet and exercise, but having said that, "wonder pills" keep appearing every few months and promise fast fixes for people who are desperate to lose weight.
Now I am not saying that all Hoodia manufacturers are bad. There are some very honest companies out there, but they are vastly outnumbered by companies whose sole intent is to get your hard earned cash. Because there are no strict regulations regarding drug protection, it means that anyone can come up with a pill and say it is Hoodia. By law, manufacturers are not required to be honest with regards to what is in their product when it is made!
What that means is, that when you read the label, it is not always true. Most people who have bought and used Hoodia have not lost any weight or achieved very little weight loss. If you are someone who has tried one of the so called Hoodia products and failed to lose any weight, you have wasted your money and been taken for a ride.
The truth is, there are very few products that have original Hoodia inside them. Hoodia comes from a plant in South Africa where the natives used it to help them overcome hunger when they were on long hunting expeditions. South Africa has very strict regulations in place regarding Hoodia but it is still available all over the world in the form of supplements.
All Hoodia will in fact do, and I mean original Hoodia here, is to stop you from feeling hungry, it will not help you lose weight. That is the reason it is called a supplement and it should be used in conjunction with a health diet and exercise program.
Do not believe what many of these so called "wonder pills" will do. They can only and must only be used in conjunction with a good diet program. That is the only way you can lose weight.
Remember, you will not lose weight by taking Hoodia. You will lose weight through a good diet and exercise program, and any supplement you take should be just that, a supplement and not a solution!
I believe there are three key reasons why people fail to lose weight fast and keep it off. Rapid fat loss is easily achieved once dieters understand these three keys.
The following are my top three reasons why people fail to lose weight fast and keep the unwanted pounds and inches off:
Lack of support:
All the latest research has shown how critical it is for dieters to have a support system in place. When times get tough, and they will, people need to have a community of positive people to turn to that will help them achieve their rapid fat loss goals.
People who seek social support may be 42% more likely to lose weight compared to those who do not seek social support. Remember the mindset you are creating ... social support is a significant part of your new mindset. Surround yourself with positive people who will be there to help keep you on track.
Where should your social support come from? You shouldn't always assume that your family members are the best support. Sometimes they are the worst choices! Anyone who has a negative attitude concerning your body weight should not have a role in your social support. Friends or colleagues who also want to lose weight may be good allies because you can work together to keep each other on track.
For starters your social support is the forum and your fellow participants. Of course I always recommend finding your social support in family members or friends as well.
No emphasis on lifestyle changes:
A very big reason people fail to maintain their rapid fat loss for a lifetime is a complete failure to focus on lifestyle changes. Temporary fixes and fad diets need to be replaced by healthy habits and a new self-image. I believe people put too much emphasis on the "lose weight fast" and not enough on the lifestyle changes necessary to keep the pounds from ever coming back.
Lifestyle changes means consuming whole foods that are high in fiber and low in sugar, such as lean protein (lean beef, chicken, fish, whey protein), fruits and vegetables (oranges, apples, strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, peppers, asparagus, carrots), nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts), and whole grains.
It also means eating low-glycemic carbohydrates, such as vegetables, wholegrain products and oatmeal instead of refined, processed carbohydrates. Refined, process carbs usually come in a box or a bag. Try to eat starches that contains a minimum of 3 grams of fiber per serving.
Paralysis by analysis:
Many times dieters will wait for that perfect time to get started or wait until they think they have the perfect plan before trying to lose weight fast. The plan only needs be good enough to get started. It is mandatory to create a weight loss plan, but not at the expense of never getting started with rapid fat loss. Create a plan centered around a support community and lifestyle changes and adjust the plan as necessary.
