The quickest way to lose weight is through diet and exercise, period. That means taking in fewer calories than you burn.
Starving yourself is silly because it sends your body into a low calorie burning mode, and it could cause serious health problems. Patience is a virtue when trying to lose weight, as with many endeavors.
Combining a healthy diet with exercise is a long term strategy for the quickest way to lose weight. That's without the yo-yo effect of many fad diets.

Whilst every new method of losing weight gets a great deal of publicity, it seems that the excitement surrounding the Hoodia plant may be completely justified; the potential of this plant is even getting experts excited. In typical fashion, the manufacturers of slimming and dietary supplements have been quick to recognize the potential of Hoodia weight loss products; the number of slimming products containing the extract grows weekly. However, do you know what this mysterious plant is and why weight loss treatments based on it are in so much demand?

Well it is actually a cactus-like plant with 13 species. One species in particular, Hoodia Gordonii, is being investigated for use as an appetite suppressant. It grows in the Namib and Kalahari deserts in South Africa, having the unique attribute of reducing or even eliminating appetite. In fact, this cactus is so good at reducing the appetite that it is considered, by medical science, as the most effective appetite inhibitor on the planet. This is probably why it is in great demand.

Before being included in weight loss treatments, this cactus was actually studied in laboratories and even directly tested in first-hand experiments. One particular experiment included a team of people from the BBC who were only given a single Hoodia leaf to eat. The entire team wanted nothing else to eat or drink for the rest of the day.

The most amazing thing about Hoodia weight loss products is the fact that users of the product experience no ill effects. This, however, is not the case with almost every other appetite suppressant available. Users also have the additional benefit of knowing that they will not feel tired whilst they are using it as it supplies the correct amount of energy and reduces the desire to eat.

Wonderful as it is, it does not mean that you should stop eating healthily or drinking regularly. The purpose of the Hoodia weight loss pill is not to starve yourself but to control unnatural and unnecessary food cravings; however, just because a person doesn't feel hungry, they still need to eat, otherwise their health will suffer. Hoodia is an ideal method of controlling the appetite of people who cannot control their own.

Be prepared to pay a premium for any weight loss products that use real extracts as the production costs involved are high. In many areas where a product is expensive, unauthentic Hoodia weight loss pills and other supplements allegedly containing the plant are readily available on the internet. Be warned if you see them at very low prices, it is unlikely to be the genuine product. Buying cheap Hoodia extracts is not only false economy as you cannot produce this product cheaply, but you do not actually know what is being used as the substitute.
