What foods should I eat for maximum fat loss? This is a common question that I get from clients and friends. There is so much new information out there everyday "X food is now good for you but Y food is now bad." How can you possibly sort through all the junk science and sensational reporting to truly find out which foods will help you lose weight and which foods won't?

Let me help. Here's a look at foods that you should eat to maximize fat loss. These foods are listed in no particular order because they are all important.

Broccoli - Broccoli may seem like a regular vegetable but it is a true superfood. fat loss benefits aside broccoli is amazing due to its health boosting effects. It contains antioxidants and phytochemicals that have been shown to help fight cancer. There is also some evidence to suggest that another compounds found in broccoli , Calcium D-glucarate , can bind excess estrogen in the body. This hormonal modulation is an added bonus from a fat loss perspective. Broccoli contains low impact carbs - meaning they don't effect your blood sugar too much (which is great for fat loss). You can buy is fresh or frozen (broccoli cuts or florets - make sure to buy the florets as the cuts are the leftover pieces). The bottom line is Eat Broccoli Often.

Salmon - For the longest time fatty fish such as salmon was seen as 'bad' by the fitness and fat loss. Research now shows us that eating more fat does not prevent fat loss. In addition we now know that the long chain omega-3 fats found in salmon (EPA and DHA) are some of the best kinds of fat. Research has shown that these fats can actually help you burn more fat. Salmon also contains high levels of protein - it is really the perfect package.

Almonds - Almonds are a great fat loss snack. Almonds are extremely convenient, portable, and they have a long shelf life. You should keep a small bag of almonds at your desk, in your briefcase, or backpack as an emergency fat loss snack. Almonds contain fat, fiber, and protein - all of which will help curb your hunger. They are also low in carbohydrates and provide your body with energy while keeping your blood sugar levels under control.

Green Tea - Green tea is another powerful food that will have huge impacts on your fat loss and health. Green tea can be an acquired taste for some people as if you let it steep to long (e.g. leave the tea bag in the water) it can be very bitter. You can drink it hot or cold (if you opt for cold you may need to add a little splenda). Green tea contains cancer fighting compounds, not to mention antioxidants, caffeine, and the fat burning powerhouse EGCG. Research has shown that the combination of caffeine and EGCG (which is naturally combined in green tea) can help burn extra fat. Drink 2-3 cups a day. In fact I'm drinking some right now!

Are you eating these foods everyday? When was the last time you had a cup of green tea? Never? Start incorporating these foods into your daily diet. If you aren't eating any of them then just shoot for one to start. Green tea is easy so start with that one. Go buy some green tea and have 2 cups everyday for a week. Then next week buy broccoli and eat it 4-5 times that week. The following week buy salmon and have that 3 times (in addition to broccoli 4-5 times and 2 cups of green tea a day). On the 4th week pack yourself a small plastic bag of almonds to have a snack during the day. Do this everyday that week. By the 4th week you will be simply and easily incorporating all 4 fat burning foods into your diet. Now make it happen!

1) No liquid calories (with the exception of a post-workout drink).

If you are trying to lose fat, liquid calories (juices, sodas, sport drinks...) are the last thing you need.

You must also limit your alcohol intake - especially if you are adding mix to drinks...that is a double calorie bomb! A single "Jackand Coke" is over 200 calories (100 calories from booze and 100 calories from mix).

2) No fast food.

Eating at fast foods restaurants means nothing but one thing: fat. You will not find healthy food at a fast food restaurant.

Fast, cheap, poor quality food ingredients is what you will find there. Accept it, it's cheap food, it's fast food, it's bad food.

The politically-incorrect truth is that it's going to take time and effort to eat properly. You will have to plan, shop, and prepare healthy meals. You will have to spend time cleaning, cutting, and cooking your food. That's the truth.

Ok, i told you so, it will not be easy. But you'll feel the difference. Instead of the desire to have an afternoon nap at your desk you'll feel alert, full of energy. That food will be better, taste better, and...it will be healthier than any fast food you can buy in a fast food restaurant.

Make one small improvement to your nutrition everyday for the rest of your life.

3) Eat more vegetables and fruits.

Intead of eating 2 servings per day, go up to 4 servings per day by the end of the week. Even if you think you are doing great by having 5 servings per day, you still need to double that (take 2-3 weeks to work your way up to 10 servings per day).

Stick with fiber-rich fruits and vegetables - organic if possible.

You can try with nuts, but choose natural or dry-roasted nuts instead of roasted in oils nuts. The last ones are a possible source of trans fats.

Don't worry...this small amount of nuts won't make you fat, but will fill you up and help you lose weight.

5) Be consistent with your workouts.

Make sure the workouts are efficient and effective. If you want to make it easy for you to follow, stick with the Turbulence Training fat burning workout system.

If you train consistently, you'll see great results in a few weeks. It doesn't matter if you train in the morning before or after breakfast, or at night before or after dinner, or at 1pm on days when the moon is in line with Saturn.

6) EXTRA TIP: After anytime you eat a big meal, the best you can do is to go for a walk any movement is better than sitting around watching the TV, and it will help you in the fat burning process and to control your triglycerides and cholesterol.
