[#1]1500 Calorie Diabetic Diet
by Brooke Hayles, Bro
Everyone knows the benefits of eating a healthy and balanced diet. This is especially the case for diabetics and there are a number of diet requirements that a diabetic person may need to eat more of or less of, to help manage their diabetes. As every person is different, there is no one form of diet that fits every diabetic.

Most diabetics have diabetic diet guidance. Even though there is no set diabetic diet that all diabetics need to follow, there are a few guidelines that apply to everyone. Maintaining a healthy weight is extremely important for diabetics and this can be achieved, in part, by eating a healthy diabetic diet. If a diabetic does not keep their weight down, it can lead to their symptoms worsening. Of course, it isn't just diabetics who need to watch their weight.

Diabetes results from glucose levels in the blood being too high and consuming excess sugar can cause problems. A diabetic can eat most things, but depending on the severity and type of diabetes that they have, it is necessary to eat certain foods in moderation. This applies to sugar, carbohydrates and certain types of fats. Alcohol should always be drunk in moderation, but it is even more important for anyone on a diabetic diet to cut down on their consumption.

There is no need for a diabetic to give up their sweet treats completely, just cut back on the amount of cookies and cakes they eat. However, excess consumption of one form of sugar in particular, fructose, does need to be avoided. Fructose is fruit sugar and is found in very high amounts in fruit juices. A diabetic diet should include a maximum of one small glass of fruit juice on a daily basis. Fructose is also classed as a simple carbohydrate along with lactose, from milk and sucrose, regular sugar. These all need to be eaten in modified amounts on any type of diabetic diet.

Complex carbohydrates, unlike simple carbohydrates, are an essential part of any diet including a diabetic diet. These are broken down in the body to produce energy. Brown rice, whole-wheat pasta and whole-wheat bread are some of the best sources of complex carbohydrates.

A diabetic diet also needs to help prevent other diseases and conditions apart from the diabetes itself. Kidney problems and heart disease are just two examples. It is essential to ensure that the diabetic diet does not include too many saturated fats, which could bring on other medical conditions. The body does need some fat intake to function correctly but this can be found in sunflower oil, olive oil, vegetable oil, and other unsaturated fats.

If you are diabetic, there is no reason why you cannot have the majority of the foods that you love. The key is to eat some of them in moderation and increase the healthier foods. You are sure to feel a difference in yourself and see a difference in your general health. Of course, your diabetes will also be far better managed.

Summary:

A diabetic can eat most things, but depending on the severity and type of diabetes that they have, it is necessary to eat certain foods in moderation. Your doctor also told you that to deal with this terrible disease, you need to 'diet and exercise'.

Sadly, what your doctor didn't tell you was how to diet and how to exercise so that you can get this deadly illness under control.

Left to your own devices, you've tried every known dieting plan out there. But the pounds just don't seem to melt away. Instead, you think that your own best efforts at starving yourself have worked in the wrong direction - you're even gaining weight! It is just not fair that a diabetic diet does not come with an instruction book and a free dietitian.

If that sounds familiar, it may be the types of food and beverages you consuming that seem to be "natural" and "low fat", but are actually high in calories and make you hungry for more.

Kevin Trudeau is the controversial author of the Natural Cures book series that are promoted day and night on cable channels.

He's received both damnation and praise for his work. Some view him as an untrained con artist trying to make a quick dollar off of diabetes sufferers and others.

Many diabetics we talk with on a daily basis view him as an evangelist for healthier, natural living.

Despite the controversy, he has hit a nerve among what he refers to as 'Big Pharma', or the established medical community.

One of his primary complaints is that the 'Big Food' industry creates foods that are presented as low fat and low calories, containing natural ingredients, are actually duping the public into eating hunger generating products that actually pack on more weight and keep you coming back for more.

Here's a list of the most dangerous foods and ingredients, according to Trudeau, that can sabotage your diet and make you fatter than ever:

MSG
Monosodium Glutamate (…or one of it's chemical equivalents) is a commonly used ingredient in processed or long shelf life products. It helps preserve the appearance of food freshness, but actually increases your hunger.

Aspartame
This sweetener, generally sold under the brand name of NutraSweet, is a cheap sugar substitute that can spur appetite. Lot's to read on Google search!

High Fructose Corn Syrup
A cheap, sugar alternative, its' found in just about every processed food and beverage you can imagine. But it's actually worse than sugar because it's more calorie dense than the sugar with terrible side effects. Trudeau believes that it's chemically addictive to users. And it also throws your blood sugar off by draining chromium (a blood sugar regulating trace mineral).

Natural and Artificial Flavors and Colorings
Processed food and beverage products strip out natural food nutrients in the food manufacturing process. Devoid of any real 'food value', these manipulated foods become bland, unappealing products that need flavorings and colorings to mask them. Trudeau notes that many of these 'masking agents' are hunger creating and help you to crave even more food.

Sucrose-Splenda
Trudeau points to this sugar substitute as "man-made chemical sweetener (that) is deadly, poisonous and makes you fat." Rather than satiating your appetite, you may find that consuming products with Sucrose actually causes, according to the author, an increase in your appetite.

One of the most provocative studies conducted on processed foods and their impact on weight gain was conducted several years ago.

Two monkeys were fed different diets. The first ate only natural foods, such as fruits and vegetables. The second monkey ate processed foods or 'supermarket' foods that had been highly refined and processed, containing many of the ingredients Trudeau refers to.

After several months, the natural foods eating monkey was thin, active and healthy. The second monkey, the one fed a diet of inner aisle, processed supermarket foods, was fat, frail, lethargic and ultimately died an early death. You should find this information by searching Google for: Supermarket Food KILLS Monkey - Monkey Has Massive Heart Attack.

Use of unnatural, unhealthy processed ingredients in your diabetic diet, which may appear to be "low fat", "low calorie" or "lite" may actually be making you fatter and aggravating your diabetic condition.

Read, read and read. Educate yourself-take control yourself. Take control of your life.
