by Amit Bhalla, Ami

Throughout our lives, we strive to bring health and wealth in our homes thus, we put a variety of modus operandi in practice. As you sail through these techniques, you may discover a better way of living. Feng shui is also one of those techniques that let people discover how to feel healthier, wealthier and fulfilled by incorporating few changes in arrangement of things in your home. Home is the only place where any person spends most of his or her time, for that reason your home should be much more than a relaxing place. Although every corner of home is essential but as we all spend about a third part of our lives in bedroom it becomes the most valuable place. Consequently, we want this room to be as comfy and soporific as possible. As a vibrant and soothing bedroom plays a vital role in maintaining balance and harmony in our lives, bedroom also requires distinct feng shui arrangements. Ultimately, we need to create a feng shui bedroom to feel more protected and relaxed.

Basically, feng shui bedrooms are based on the idea that everything in your environment affects the course of your life. Likewise your nature, actions and will power play a grand role in determining your destiny. Feng shui techniques are all about uniting these inner and outer factors to make positive transformation possible in every way. It is definitely a logical and scientific method of arranging the environment to bring happiness and satisfaction. Factors that influence the environment of your bedroom are its shape, design and arrangement of things. To make a perfect feng shui bedroom, a feng shui expert examines all these factors and then only he suggests possible changes in arrangement of things.

According to experts, rectangular and square shaped bedrooms are considered the best ones in feng shui. Such shapes allow the smooth flow of positive vibrations and keep the place peaceful and soothing. Though one cannot make changes in home architectures but rooms with single entrance are considered the best for making a feng shi bedroom. When the bedroom has two doors, positive vibrations will not remain harmonically in the room and the occupants will not sleep as peacefully. For making a perfect feng shui bedrooms it is important to allow more positive vibrations enter in the bedroom. This can be done though more and more sunlight preservation into the bedroom during the day.

Always remember that the sunlight should not penetrate directly on the bed, as it believed to be over-activated and can make the person restless. For people who use bedrooms for variety of purposes, this place should be as much energetic as it can be. In such case when bedroom is used for multiple purposes it is better to separate working and sleeping place. One crystal can also be placed at the working desk as it will stimulate the brain through highly effective vibrations. People, who do not believe in such things, must incorporate feng shui techniques in their home interior to witness its wonderful effects

Are there any dangers or problems in using Motel or Hotel beds ? The obvious might be bed bugs as there is much literature on this today however the better class motel/ hotel is not likely to have this problem. Then again the bed might be just too hard or too small or too something but this is not the issue in Feng Shui. In Feng Shui bedrooms we aim to create a positive flow of 'Chi' and as you sleep for your health and fortune

It could be that the bedroom that you are in for that night away is tainted with bad energy or blocked energy. The Chi energy that flows around you while you sleep is vital for good health and the traveller who uses many rooms over time can experience a negativity which can effect health and fortune in business and life.

Its not likely that you will paint your bedroom red or purple however if there is an over supply of these colors in any sleeping area you will have created a negative energy which will effect your business relationships and fortune. Best to choose neutral or pastel colors for they will do no harm and in the right mix will create good 'Ch' in your sleeping area.

The ideal choice of color for the bedroom is a light leaf green pastel strength and or a pastel light blue. Both of these colors will induce an energy flow which aids sleep and relaxation. The color lavender with a pink flavor is called the color of paradise and will work well for you too. So when travelling have a look at the colors of the room you will sleep in it affect your decision to stay or go.

The position of a bed in the room of a motel should always be in a position according to the Feng Shui Map called the ba Gua. Of course its unlikely you will get an ideal bed placement but be aware of what will not work according to the map.

Have you heard of the, 'coffing position' ? This unlikely term is used in Feng Shui to describe a bed so placed in a room where the foot of the bed is facing the doorway. The term sort of explains itself and that should be enough warning to avoid this bed position. Add to this a bed where the foot of the bed is facing a mirror and reflecting the image of the person in the bed. Here we have an expansion of energy through reflection and it has a negative effect by causing restlessness and poor recovery .

For a business person who travels and sleeps in many different bedrooms there may a tendency to leave papers and documents and a satchel sort of scattered around the room after reading in preparation for the next day. In doing so you have created a clutter which can cause the energy of chi to be distorted and in turn effect your sleep pattern as well as your business arrangements for the next day.

Good idea to take with you on your travels essential oils such as lavender and the most beneficial of all Rose oil. Blend it in diluted water and spray gently around the room for best and quickest effect.

Finally it is an important practise to say a 'blessing prayer' over the room you are staying in. Many rooms, which are shared by the public, are tainted with behaviour and practises that are demeaning. The past activities of the previous occupants can leave a negative energy and even a destructive energy in a room. The Prayer could go like this: "Universe of energy and love I now ask that this room be cleansed of all previous harmful or hurtful acts that have been committed here. I ask that this room be blessed with your divine 'chi' light and energy for health and healing"
