[F234]Find A Local Job
by Karl Hopkins, Kar
It seems a growing trend in the online job searching maketplace is the emergence of the local/regional job board. More and more national and local companies are realising the benefits of attracting candidates on the net and where better to do this than on a local job board dedicated to the local community? If you are struggling to find the ideal job, why not type "jobs in yourtownname" into Google and see what appears.

Most local job searching sites will allow you to search for vacancies based on a mixture of criteria, usually based on your preferred job categories and salary range. To save time, you can often set up jobs alerts. This feature enables you to enter your criteria one time and the website will then automatically send you details of matching new jobs every day by email. You can usually cancel these subscriptions by clicking a link on the email once you have found your perfect job. When searching job sites, bear in mind that recruitment agencies advertise a high percentage of the vacancies.

You may wish to look at the A-Z of recruiters - something you often find on job sites - which will help you to spot any local employers or top companies you may wish to apply to. You can usually click a link straight from the company profile page view that employer's jobs. Before registering on a local job site, make sure your CV is up to date and that you have thought carefully about what kind of vacacnies you want to target. Once you have added your details you are likely to start receiving phone calls from recruiters and employers and it can be a waste of time and effort for everyone if you set your criteria too broadly. To ensure your CV is correctly formatted, it is worth getting some quality advice. You will usually find a "Career Centre" on local job sites which may contain CV writing advice and interview success tips. The CV advice tends to be pretty standard and is worth paying attention to.

After all, you never get a second chance to make that first impression! There might be a local jobsite right on your doorstep that you didn't even know about. Why not start searching now and see what awaits you. Good luck!

The floor is something we often take for granted, especially in the kitchen. The only time it gets a lot of thought is when it is dirty or needs replaced. If you have an older floor or are not happy with your floor then maybe it is time to remodel. Remodeling a kitchen floor is a large task. It can be made easier, though. You just have to learn some tricks and tips that can make the job go smoother and really cut down on the frustrations.
Starting Advice
The last thing you want to do is put new flooring over old flooring. That is never acceptable because imperfections will quickly show through the new floor and you will be back at square one. To do it right you have to start from scratch and get that old flooring out of there. An alternative, if this seems too difficult or impossible, is to lay a new sub-floor over the old flooring. A good piece of advice and a way to make the task go quicker is to remove everything from the kitchen or everything that you possibly can. Make sure they are in a spot where they can stay until the floor is finished. This way you do not have to mess with anything and can focus your efforts on the floor.
Tips for the Job
You have to start with a smooth surface. So, go over the floor again and make sure the now stripped or re-done sub floor is smooth. You may have to sand or scrap up glue. Do it and do not think of not doing it. You will be very grateful later on. Once it is smooth you need to clean it with a damp mop. When you are cutting the new flooring be sure to measure everything and then measure it again. You have to make sure you get a snug fit that is accurate. If you are laying a wood floor then remember to leave room for expansion. When you use glue make sure to spread it in an even consistency to get a proper seal and so the floor is laid smoothly. Before you reassemble the room you have to make sure the glue is completely dry. If you start to move in on a floor that isn't dry you just may cause sliding which means more work for you. Move things back in carefully to avoid damage.
