[F218]Financial Planning And Control
by Michael Geoffrey, Mic
Buy now pay later has become the motto that most Americans live by. It is a dangerous thing because it causes people to live beyond their means, and they can end up having to for years to come. That's where most people need guidance in planning their finances.
When you are thinking about purchasing something on credit think about the alternative. If you saved only $100 per month for each year that you are in the work force you will be a millionaire when you retire. Is that worth a little self control?
Some people feel that when they reach the point of being financially secure they will then be able to buy whatever the want whenever they want to. This is not the case with real financial security. There are many who have a great deal of money to spend but are not financially secure.
Some people are captive by their addiction to spending money. They may have plenty to spend, but they can not be called financially secure.
She couldn't stop buying things she didn't need - things that accomplished no purpose in her life, things that produced no good for anyone other than the momentary thrill she may have experienced on her endless shopping sprees.
It is sad to see people who are trapped in this buying cycle and are only happy if they are spending money. They never find true contentment and satisfaction in life. This means that for all the money they have they really have nothing of real value in their life. They just have a lot of stuff.
It's no secret - you will not reach new levels of comfort, fulfillment, and spiritual peace by accumulating things for no other purpose than to accumulate them. What financial planning help can do is show you how to take charge of your life again.
Striving after more and more things will never bring our contentment or happiness. A financial plan may be able to help you get control of your spending and change your focus from the possession of material things to more purposeful and meaningful things in life.

Can financial planning be that important or necessary? For the average individual, it seems like a nightmare. The reality, however, need not be so bad. The process is actually quite a low stress business. In a nutshell, financial planning can be just a 6-step process one needs to go through if you want to achieve your financial goals.

At the heart of this process - prioritize meaningful personal and reasonable financial goals. Therefore it is a multi-faceted activity that requires trade-offs between one's goals and objectives. This process helps to make one's financial situation as clear as possible. At the core of all this, it is financial planning that will make your financial goals come true.

It is certainly a key to achieving one's financial future, and really is both a process and an attitude. In essence, it is all about cultivating the right habits.
