Not Eating is the best way that yields results - This myth only works for a few days. If you stopped eating right then and there or if you decide to then try again. Fasting makes you even hungrier thus you end up wanting more food. You may eat twice daily or once a day but the volume, the amount that you eat will be twice as much as usual. It is simply human instinct.
When you deprive your body of the food that it is used to having, the tendency is you will eat as much as possible when you do eat.
Don't Have Carbohydrates to lose weight - This is a weight loss myths that is commonly mistaken as the truth by many people. You read is that carbohydrates make you fat, or help contribute making you fat. It has some truth, but do not be afraid of having carbohydrates. Your body must have carbohydrates to function. When broken down, these carbohydrates are used as energy. Roughly one third of your diet should be made up of carbohydrates. The danger lies in having too much carbohydrates and then not getting enough exercise to burn the reserved energy.

Don't have Sweets - Many weight loss gurus will say that you should avoid sugars entirely. The simple truth is you can have some once in a while. Just keep it in moderation. You need to be gratified not only physically emotionally too. It also keeps you motivated when you reward yourself at the end.
The ideal time to eat sweets is after exercise. Your body quickly metabolizes that simple sugar and will not store the calories. A great after exercise meal is anything high in protein along with simple carbs.
You Do Not Have to Exercise if You are Eating Less - Never think you don't need exercise. Did you know that exercising helps in your metabolic rate? When exercising you build muscles and shed extra fat pounds you may have. Not only will you look good but you will feel great as well.
