[F2]Fable 2 Perfect Date
by Marvin Perry, Mar
If the men have rules to follow when dating, so do the women. Although dating is more of a personal thing and rules apply depending on the individual, it is still important to have some insight on how to have that perfect date.

As they say, rules are just rules. But let's face it. Dating and courtship is more complicated than we think it is. We need to have an idea on what things should be and should not be done, things that excites and stimulate the senses as well as build interests. Compatibility tests the endurance of dating. If we know the right things to do, it decreases the possibility of broken hearts and disillusionment and we might get the chance to realize that meaningful relationship.

Each culture has their unique social statutes, which are to be followed one way or the other. The same applies with the game of dating. If men have rules, women should also have guidelines to apply in playing the game called dating. If you are a woman who is having a dilemma about dating men, these are helpful tips for you. If you are a man, just read along anyway for you might find something handy.

Rule number one. Always look great. Try some lipstick on, have a new hairstyle and try wearing fashionable clothes. Looking good will do you no harm. Remember that you are a woman. You have the edge and the advantage. Make an effort to look better than usual because the probable Mr. Right could be out there waiting.

Rule number two. Do not give away too much personal information. Be a little mysterious. Most men are into enigmatic women. Something else you should remember is less is more. You should not spend too much time on a date. A brief encounter should make a man interested and coming back for more.

Staying in shape and being fit is the third rule. A fitness routine or having a sport can help you get that healthy body as well as a healthy mind.

Rule number four. Make the man your boss. During dates, allow him to pay. There is something about men wanting to lead, so let them. It is an ego thing. Let him shower you with gifts, especially flowers. If you have been going out for quite sometime and still no sign of flowers, chuck him.

Fifth rule. You should not attempt to sleep with the man until he has fallen in love with you. Doing it in the early stage of dating may ruin everything and will eventually leave you broken.

Rule number six. Forget being on time and keep your man waiting. Forget availability. If he's available on Friday, you should be available on Saturday.

Guarantee that you are a good kisser. You should develop the skill of kissing. Practice kissing if you do not want your man to walk away. And be good at it.

Flowers and candy were once thought to be "romantic" or a "gentlemanly gesture." That was also in the days of Leave it to Beaver. Times have changed, women have changed. Things that worked back then, just don't work now. They don't carry any merit, and in fact, they actually may hurt you. Let me tell you why.

What you thought was such a sweet gesture on your part, just told the woman you are taking on a date a very different thing. To her, flowers and candy represent a wimpy token of appreciation in hopes of receiving her attention in exchange. They are unoriginal, lack creativity, and are just plain cheesy. You might get a fake smile in return, and maybe a hug if you're lucky, but they will both lack sincerity. Strike ONE!

Not only will they lack sincerity, but you have just lost any ounce of respect you were hoping to establish. Any ordinary fellow can pick up flowers, so you have to do something to set yourself apart from those other guys.

Try something different. Think about every conversation that you have had with her. If you were listening, she probably told you more than enough about herself to give you a clue on her likes and dislikes.

Where did you meet her? At a coffee shop? At a book store? At the mall? Bringing something of context to her will show that you not only are attentive, but are proactive about it. If you bumped into her at a book store, do you remember which section you were in? What she was reading? Pick up a book of the same author or topic for her. You can't imagine how many brownie points that will earn you.

And before you show up for your date, have something about the gift in mind that you want to talk about. Don't think that her heart and affection will be yours upon receiving the gift. You have to know WHY you're giving it to her, and be able to articulate it at the same time.

In the book example, do a little research on the author. Find out what types of books the author writes. Maybe check out some editorial reviews that you can "borrow" to make it appear that you know what you are talking about. And it will show your date that you went out of your way to look up and research her interests.

In her mind, if you get into something just because she is interested in it, that will show her you can express similar enthusiasm later down the road. And if she starts picturing the near future with you in it, that'll do so much for the current date you are going on.

Trust me, you'll see more enthusiasm on her end, which will make for an engaging date for the both of you. And you know what that means...usually another date very soon.

So, to summarize the key points of this article...

1. NOOOOOOO flowers and candy. Did I get my point across?

2. Be creative. Bring something of context.

3. Research before you give her the gift. And have something articulate to say about it.
