You must remember that your baby will spend the major part of the day in bed, sleeping. Therefore, it is important that the baby bedding you provide your child is comfortable, as well as easy to maintain. It also depends on ones budget on whether what one should buy. You can choose between luxury bedding by some famous designer or even something available at the departmental store.
Before you make this decision, determine how much you can afford to spend. If a crib bedding set falls a little over your budget, you still have options.
Let's face one fact about this, the baby wouldn't care as to what he or she is sleeping on so you might as well please yourself. Though one must keep in mind that the baby cannot speak thus the parent has to take utmost care of his or her comfort.
No matter who is buying the crib bedding the baby's gender is likely to be an issue. Even though parents don't want to adhere to gender stereotypes, most people expecting a little girl aren't going to choose the macho type set for her room rather you would prefer to choose a Barbie or something very girlie.
Various parameters must be kept in mind while choosing the bedding ?
?Size ? Check the size of the crib you have bought. It is important that the mattress will fairly fit right on the crib. There should not be any obvious gap from the frame of the crib to the mattress
?Firmness - It is advisable to look for a firmer mattress for your baby. Most of the time, the adults would prefer a soft mattress. However, babies will need a surface that is more solid because they cannot move their heads on soft mattresses in case they get to turn over.
?Cover - A cover that is highly durable is multi-layered. There are crib mattresses that have anti-microbial top layers to help fight germs coming from diaper accidents and split-ups. You may also check and see how the covers of the mattresses are being sealed.
?Baby Standards - As parents, it is a good time to use your creativity in beautifying your baby's room. However, your responsibility does not end there. Choosing your baby's stuff is equally important. And you have to keep in mind that the safety of your baby is the utmost priority and not the cost.
Also frilly pillows or stuffed animals and toys may look adorable in your child's crib, but the research suggests that anything soft is a suffocation hazard. Babies do not need pillows under their heads. Keep the pretty pillows and cute stuffed toys on the dresser or changing table, and leave the crib bare.
In the end one must pay attention on the color. Pink for a girl and blue for a boy and pastels everywhere used to be the traditional theme for children's bedding.
So keep all the above factors in mind before you go out for baby shopping.
When designing a bedroom for a child you must remember who the room belongs to. Be sure your child has some input in the selections you make. Sometimes kids seem to want everything they see, or not, depending on the child's personality and age. They do not understand how to design their rooms. You will need lots of patience, sometimes you will have to be firm with them and say ?no? we're not going to do that. The theme is important. Will it be animals, space ships, fire trucks, cowboys, bugs, flowers, ships, trains, or something else? Here are some questions you will have to answer. For instance: 1.What is the amount of money you are going to spend? 2.What colors are you going to use? 3.How much control will you give your child when it comes to picking what they want? 4.What product/s will fit your needs best? 5.Are you going to do the whole room or just the bed? (There are lots of kids bedding possibilities, when this is coupled with the right bedding accessories you will have a winning combination). 6.Will you paint? What about wall borders? Pictures on the Wall? How about rugs, clocks, growth charts, sheets, comforters and the list can go on and on. Like most things, this project can get out of hand. What starts out with a simple idea can soon become a very complicated problem. You need to spend some time considering how far do you want to take this? The age of your child may be a factor. If he/she is at a transformation age, it may not be a good idea to change the whole room if in a year or two they will outgrow what you are going to do. For instance, if your child is an infant, get toddler bedding. This way you will save by buying the bedding once instead of twice. Be sure to spend some time with your child, maybe looking at different websites. Letting them see what is available, this can be a big help. It will tell you what your child has a passion for, and can be useful in choosing everything from your theme to colors of products. At this point it seems that we have more questions than answers. However, it is important to evaluate the whole idea, come up with different scenarios and settle on one. Then the trick is to stick to it. This will save you time and money in the long run. Changing your mind in the middle of a project can get expensive. A well thought out plan is a money saver! The reward is at the end of the project when you see the delight on your child's face. This is the truly great thing about kids, their excitement. Wouldn't it be great to have that kind of zest for your life? The end result will make all your hard work pay off.
