New methods in pain management have also been devised as a response to this new trend. Babies are now being born with the help of hypnosis.
Choosing between a natural childbirth and a medication assisted delivery is one of the issues mothers face today. Natural childbirth was once prevalent in the 60's and 70's. Now it is again utilized by mothers to give birth to their babies in a more natural way.
Possible side effects of medications during delivery had been noted. They affect both the mother and the child. Recent studies have shown that these medications who are suppose to help the mother during delivery can pose a danger to the health of the child instead. Although they do not occur in every pregnancy, these side effects can be fatal when it does.
Narcotics had been found to cause respiratory depression on both the mother and the child. Epidurals can prolong the delivery which can lead to a cesarean, forcep or vacuum extraction delivery. Cesarean deliveries are expensive. The mother will also take a long time to recover because it is a major abdominal surgery. It also weakens the mother's uterine walls which may rupture on her next delivery. Epidurals can also cause the mother's blood pressure to drop. This in turn causes the baby's heart rate to go slower. They can also affect the baby's breastfeeding behavior after the delivery.
Women with a low risk pregnancy can opt for a natural childbirth. It is a safer method without the medications.
Hypnosis, a new trend
The main factor why medications are used during pregnancy is because of the pain. Growing up we have perceived that childbirth is a very painful process. You might remember Hollywood movies depicting a mother screaming in pain as she gives birth to her child.
The fact is pain threshold is different to every individual. In others it can be very low which makes them fragile. In others it can be high ? take a look at tattoo artists or enthusiasts, and people who undergo body piercing.
Hypnosis has been devised as a natural pain management method during childbirth. It doesn't just minimize pain. It also helps the mother to become relaxed and in control. It reduces the fear and anxiety of the mother for a less strenuous delivery. Mothers will have a calmer and peaceful birthing experience.
It's a safer method because mothers do not have to be administered with an analgesic or anesthesia. If there is any a lesser dose will be needed. It reduces the duration of labor. Believe it or not a mother's contractions and the help of gravity is enough to deliver a healthy baby. Mothers will be able to recover faster since they don't have to wait for the anesthesia to wear off. The baby will be fully alert and awake when delivered. They can be easily breastfed after the delivery. It also avoids unnecessary medical interventions.
Elective cesarean sections had become popular because it's a quick process of childbirth. Unfortunately the complications emerge after the operation.
When we think of hypnosis we picture a pendant dangling from a necklace swayed back in forth as depicted in movies. Hypnosis used during childbirth is totally different. There are classes held by doctors to teach mother's how to do it. Books, audio tapes and one on one session are also available to teach the mother.
The mother can then use self-hypnosis during childbirth. This also encourages the participation of the husband or the partner in the process of childbirth. Along with the doula they can help the mother through the delivery.
In some cases a medical intervention is necessary for high risk pregnancies. For mothers who are in a healthy condition they can choose to have a safer and calmer childbirth. Babies born with hypnosis have become a new trend that will most likely stay. To give your child a healthier start in life a natural childbirth can be a good option. We just have to let nature take its course. Women's bodies are made for childbirth, so why not use it?
Like children, babies learn fast, they rapidly develop new skills through listening, watching and touching. Toys stimulate a baby's desire to learn, help them learn quickly through new experiences, help them develop an imagination and recognise different sounds.
In the first few months your baby will develop his basic senses of sight, sound and touch. Choose baby toys that will provide a range of experiences including colour, shape and texture. Have a brightly coloured mobile in the nursery where your baby can see it and study it while lying in his crib / cot.
Very quickly your baby will be able to grab things and will be looking for a whole range of new touching experiences. Go for learning toys, baby toys that will inspire your baby's imagination, toys that will enable your baby to associate touch with sound and shape.
Baby's just love to explore and it won't be very long before they are able to move towards objects that interest them. You can use interesting toys to grab your baby's attention, use baby toys to encourage your baby to learn to roll, learn to crawl and eventually learn to walk.
Baby toys can keep your little one occupied for hours toys generate interest, make your baby think and will help them to learn once they come of school age. You quite often hear people moaning about how lack of stimulation has meant that they no longer learn as quicker. The same goes for your baby, if your baby lacks stimulation at an early age they will develop more slowly and maybe never catch up. Baby toys will help them learn and develop all the skills they need.
Are you feed up with all those endless hours of crying? If you are, baby toys can help you out. Stimulate your baby using baby toys and other new learning experiences during the day, encourage your baby to use his mind and take an interest on everything that is going on around him and the odds are that your baby will sleep better at night.
In these modern times there is a baby toy for nearly every learning experience. Baby toys have been developed to help your baby learn. Take full advantage of those that have gone before you and learned what your baby will like most and let your baby enjoy trying to understand their new world through the magic of baby toys.
