If you listen to all the hype on the internet today then I would say that every home business owner who starts a business will be a millionaire in 72 hours. And what about those advertisements that say give me your money and we'll do it all for you? It makes it sound like starting a business is a walk in the park.
Well come on people why do you think that starting a home business is any different than working a job? Because that's what the network marketing company and all the prospering reps want you to believe. Maybe that's why 90% of the home business startups fail. Because their looking for the easy money and don't do their homework.
Now don't miss understand me, I own my own business and I want you to be just as successful as I am. But you have to know that starting a business and keeping it running is hard work. Well at least at first.
If you market right, get in with the right network marketing companies and invest your profits wisely you can have the life of Riley, but you have to pay your dues first, and don't let anyone tell you different. Now really have you ever talked to any entrepreneur who didn't have a hard luck story? I have to laugh sometimes it's like talking to my grandparents.
Well that sounded doom and gloom, but wait its not. Owning your own business can set you free in so many ways; financially, mentally and spiritually. With the right mental attitude you can create your own financial freedom, feel good about it and then give back to others.
So how do you know a good company from a bad company?
Here are 3 things to look for in a good company:
Longevity - the company should have a history. You might be an affiliate marketer for someone or a group of someone's, but make sure the product or service has been around.
Desirability - is the product or service in a high demand industry like health and fitness, travel or information. These are products and services that are easy to sell. And don't worry about the competition, you can specialize and competition is good for everyone.
Marketing and support system - now by this I don't mean do it all for you. I mean training, a community, and yes a marketing system. If you're new to the industry the worst thing that can happen is to pay your money and then be thrown to the wolfs. A good support team will make you and the team successful.
Get all this right and making money is easy.
Is it really so easy to make money online from affiliate marketing these days? Well, times have changed and so have the methods required, but it is still relatively easy for even a newbie to make an online income provided that they go about things the right way.
As someone who has been teaching newcomers how to make money online for a number of years now, I can tell you that actually, making money online as an affiliate, (selling someone else's product for a commission), can actually be easy. But here's the kick...
'Easy' doesn't mean you won't have to do some work!
Sadly, a lot of people expect that affiliate marketing is somehow something different than other methods of making money. It is, in fact different, if you compare it to having to work in a boring 9-5 job.
Working from home and being your own boss can be hugely enjoyable when compared to working for someone else just to make them rich. However, working from home does mean working.
You still have to put in the effort. Nothing in equals nothing out!
Being your own boss should mean that you have the hardest boss you've ever had. You! That should certainly be the case, initially at least. If you want the rewards that affiliate marketing can bring, (perhaps even allowing you to quit your day job), then be prepared to work for that reward.
The wonderful thing about affiliate marketing though, is that very often you can do the work once and get paid for that work over and over again on autopilot. It's called residual income and it's a wonderful thing to experience.
Having put in the work to begin with, you really can experience the joy of waking up in the morning, checking your emails and finding that you have made more money whilst you've been asleep than many people make from working a full time job all week.
So the truth is, as an affiliate making money can be easy, just make sure you find the right teacher and that you come in to it prepared to work hard initially (and a little less hard later on) and you'll do just fine.
