About 450 years ago this modern bustling city was a small village at the footsteps of the hill, later call Mont Royal (Royal Mountain). This hill gave a name to the city on the banks of the Saint Laurent River.

There is also planetarium and the largest French Canadian University. Its Botanical Garden is the second biggest in the world.
Montreal is a very green city with more than 350 parks, the most famous of which is Mont-Royal Park, created by the author of New York Central Park. Montreal has an intense theatric life. Everyone can find something interesting. Those who choose classic should visit Theatre Du Nouveau Monde, but the citizens of Montreal prefer Theatre Saint-Denis.
