Not only will losing weight make you feel and look better, it will make you feel better about yourself and help your self-confidence. A good starting point for most people is to try and lose 10 pounds, and for many people this can be easily achieved through exercise.

On the weekends and in the evenings, take up a sport or an active hobby like hiking. The key is to find ways that you can get exercise while also doing things you enjoy.
You can lose 10 pounds fairly quickly by starting a serious exercise regimen, of course, but that's not necessarily the best way to do it. If you make your exercise like work, it'll start to feel like work, and it will become tempting to put it off and avoid it. If you incorporate exercise into your daily routine, however, it won't seem like work at all - it will be fun.
