[L674]Lower Your Body Fat
by Greg Ryan, Gre

My name is Greg Ryan. I am a fitness expert, professional bodybuilder, personal, trainer to movie stars, former employee of Kathy Smith and over 50, 000 hours of paid personal training sessions under my belt. For the last twenty years I have been able to continually make progress, stay consistent and have some fun in my quest to be in better shape. One very important technique you need to learn is how to monitor your heart rate.  I have been able to keep my body fat low for years because I am efficient not because I know it all. Here is what I mean:

Low Body Fat Technique #2: Work your heart smarter not harder!

One of the most neglected parts of any workout program is not making the most out of your cardiovascular training time. Cardiovascular training is when you exercise your heart at a certain level of effort. Something is better than nothing, but just going through the motions just to say you’ve done it, is not working smart.

One of the most important and effective things you can do to lower your body fat is to monitor your heart rate as you exercise. How do you do that and what is the right rate for you?

You do that by taking your heart rate during your workout. While performing your cardiovascular workout begin by taking your pulse at the eight minute mark and then in ten minute increments there after.

How you determine your heart rate is to complete the heart rate zone formula:

220-age x 60-85 % - Target heart rate zone.

The simplest way to do this is to determine your heart rate zone top number and bottom number. Second divide both numbers by six. This will give you to small numbers to make sure you strive for in a ten second period. If you are to low, beef it up, if you are too high you will burn muscle. Stay in the zone and you will be surprised how the body fat will start coming off.

But, you have to push yourself. You can not slack off on this. Just getting on the treadmill for a nice little stroll only satisfies the mind and not the body.

The goal is to maintain your heart rate in the zone for 20 to 40 minutes.

If you're looking for a way to jack your fat-burning sky-high, here's a great tip for you:

Focus on single ingredient meals, especially after 6:00pm. Single ingredients means simple options for you and less confusion in the long run. Seriously, what could easier than picking one ingredient? And the one ingredient is one of the most important that our bodies need and also it enhances our muscle building ability. The more muscle you have the bigger the engine you have to burn calories.

NOTE: This is not a long-term strategy, nor is it something you should do every day. Aim for consuming 3-4 meals per week at first that contain only one ingredient. I know at first this can be difficult to adjust to, but if you just try it and put it in action you will see that you will modify your "wants" as much as you think you "need" to eat something different. This is a lot like when I switched from regular Pepsi to Diet Pepsi. At first it tasted lousy, but about a week later I preferred it to real Pepsi. Our brains are easily manipulated if you just give it a try.

Guess what ingredient that is?

PROTEIN

Eating hard proteins foods is a great way to get lean. You can do this using animal or vegetarian based protein foods. So when choosing protein-rich foods, pay attention to what comes along with the protein. Vegetable sources of protein, such as beans, nuts, and whole grains, are excellent choices, and they offer healthy fiber, vitamins and minerals. The best animal protein choices are fish and poultry. If you are partial to red meat, stick with the leanest cuts, choose moderate portion sizes, and make it only an occasional part of your diet. The key is one ingredient. Consume your normal meal's calories all in protein. This will help elevate your thermogenic rate and keep that fat burning. Elevating your thermogenic rate is like turning on the oven to 500 degrees, you will just start burning off the fat. This is one of the best secrets that everyone from bodybuilders to fitness models to actresses use everyday.

If you select a second ingredient, select celery and lots of it. Celery will fill you up and help expend even more calories in the fat-burning process. Celery is like a bonus food that has very little caloric intake and yet you burn calories digesting it. It is sometimes called a negative calorie. Celery is an excellent source of vitamin C, a vitamin that helps to support the immune system. Vitamin C-rich foods like celery may help reduce cold symptoms or severity of cold symptoms; over 20 scientific studies have concluded that vitamin C is a cold-fighter. Vitamin C also prevents the free radical damage that triggers the inflammatory cascade, and is therefore also associated with reduced severity of inflammatory conditions, such as asthma, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. You can't beat celery. Another secret I use is to drink big glasses of ice-cold water. This is great for two reasons. You get hydrated and consume no calories and also the bonus of your body expending energy (burning calories) to heat the water up as it moves through your body.
