Make Money with the Internet. There are a lot of online scams with promises of making you money and quick get-rich-quick schemes. They claim that all you have to do is join a program, and they will take care of the rest. Watch out for them. Those of you who got burned know what I am talking about. I've been conned more than once from some of these smooth talkers. They will assure you that they have the answer to all of your prayers. They know the absolute best way to make money. And of course, it's never any work for you. You just have to sit back and it will all happen.
Not true!! You have to work long and hard to make an internet business work, especially at the beginning. But who ever said that it can't be fun?
The best way to make money, is to tell others about sites that you already made money with. Be honest. It's going to come back to haunt you if you're not. If you're honest and sincere, you and your business will shine.
Share your best ideas and tips with others. By doing so, you will gain their trust. Be like a helpful friend or mentor. Make yourself available for questions or comments. Be like a big brother or big sister for the new kid on the block. You remember what it was like at the beginning, when you were first learning how to bake, how to do a repair around the house, how to feed your babies, ? Be a helping hand for someone out there.
Don't be afraid to try new things. When a certain way doesn't work, try something different. Experience with new color, upbeat wording, new methods with both online and offline promotion. Remember that your best reward and profits will be if you really enjoy what you do. Choose a theme for your business, blog, or website, that you can feel it practically come alive. Make a selection about something that you know a great deal about. Let it be a passion for you.
There's a fantastic way of earning money that's growing like crazy on the internet. It is ?getting paid to post.? I tried it myself and it's awesome! You have to be careful though. Perhaps the most neglected part of any speech is the title. A real good title can make listeners say, "I'd like to hear that speech." A poor title can make them say, "That speech doesn't sound promising." A catchy, clever title is the greatest asset for a speaker. It is like a bright light that blinks, "LISTEN TO ME." Or as they say in the navy, "Now Hear This." A title should grab attention, awaken interest, arouse curiosity, or stimulate feelings.
The number one marketing mistake in any business is to produce a product or create a service first, and then try to find buyers. Smart marketers (and public speakers) look to see what the market is buying BEFORE creating products/services (in your case which public speaking topics the market is booking). Then, they market, market and market those public speaking topics like crazy to the buyers. Once you have your book, send an autographed copy to the person who decides to bring in speakers at the conferences and events that you want to speak at. Why is this such an effective strategy? It's simple.
Unlike a marketing brochure, etc., no secretary, assistant or support staff person is going to take the responsibility for not letting a gift (your autographed book) through to their boss.
They will not throw away a personalized book.
I've used this simple strategy many times and have always received a hand-written note or email from the actual decision-maker. Exactly what I planned as it now opens the door to a new working relationship for speaking engagements.
It also allows the decision-maker to get tuned into your ideas, principles and strategies. Once they buy into what you state in your book, hopefully they will be more open to bringing you in to share your message live at one of their events!
Remember, you're NOT the speaking business! You're in the business of marketing your public speaking services!
