[F947]Fun To Do At Home
by Howie Arzt, How
Success in any home business takes time. If you plan to succeed, you need to enjoy your journey as well as your results so you will stay in it for the long haul. If it's not fun your DMO (Daily Method of Operation) turns into a series of continuous boring tasks and chores, and you might as well stay at your J-O-B. However, if you make your home business fun and exciting you'll look forward to your daily work schedule, achieve success and have a great time getting there!

Here are some easy ways to put more fun into your business:

?Be Involved for the Right Reasons

If you are in your home business just for they money you wont enjoy building it. There are many other rewards that a home business brings such as personal satisfaction and a career with a purpose. Figure out what you are looking for besides money and don't lose sight of it.

?Take Pride In and Believe In What You Do

Be proud to work from home and don't pay attention to those around you who don't understand what you are doing. Negative friends and family (in most cases well intentioned) always have an opinion and will try to bring you down. Simply don't let them.

?Take a Proactive Role In Your Business

Don't wait for things to happen - make them happen!

?Focus On the Positive

Stay focused on what is going well in your business and what you have accomplished. Don't sweat the small stuff, learn from your mistakes and simply move on.

?Turn Chores Into Habits

It takes 21 days to develop a habit. Establish a DMO (Daily Method of Operation) and stick to it. After 21 days you will perform daily tasks naturally making them much more enjoyable.

?Schedule Convenient Hours

Work when it's most convenient for you and schedule time in for recreation and family. Also, take time off when needed and don't stress over business maters while enjoying your time off.

?Get a Comfortable Work Space and Get Organized

Find a comfortable quiet area to do your work in. If you sit at a desk make sure to get a comfortable chair that supports your back well and a desk with plenty of room so there isn't a lot of clutter. Keep important papers organized in a binder with plastic sheets so you have easy access to them. It really takes the fun and enjoyment away from your workday if you spend it looking for papers or if you are in pain due to an uncomfortable chair.

?Make Sure Your Equipment Works and Is Up To Date

The 2 most used items in today's home businesses are the computer and the telephone. There is nothing more discouraging than constantly having to fight with technology. It's important to have a good working updated computer and a phone that you like which works well and is comfortable. You also need a reliable Internet connection and phone service.

?Choose To Work With Those You Enjoy Working With

It's your business and you make the decisions, that's the beauty of a home business. Only work with those people you enjoy spending time with.

?Reward Yourself At Certain Milestones

Buy or do something special to celebrate your success when things go well.

?Develop Your Skills

Read, listen to and watch material on your particular niche and on Self Development. The better your skills become the more you will enjoy working your business.

?Take Advantage of All a Home Business Has to Offer

Many benefits come with a home business including no boss, no dress code, no commute, more time with friends and family, ability to do things in the middle of the week, more vacation time, flexible hours etc. Learn to recognize, take advantage of and enjoy these one of a kind benefits whenever you can.

Simply incorporate the above into your home business and you will be more productive, have fun while working and enjoy the journey on your way to success!

Have people over

You can organize any kind of get together that you want: you can have a few girls over for tea, or you can have a bigger party (but remember to tell guests to BYOB!). For the price of a few bags of chips and some pop, you can have a great night.

Theme nights

Theme nights can be a lot of fun. Have girls' night where you all paint your nails and do pedicures. Everyone can bring their stuff, and you can all mix and choose.

If you have kids, you can organize a scavenger hunt. It can be fun and simple.

Play Games

You can play Balderdash or Scattergories with materials that you probably have around the house. For Balderdash, simply take a dictionary and have one person find a really hard word. Everyone invents a definition of the word and writes it down (the person with the dictionary copies the word down too). Then, when the person with the dictionary reads it aloud, everyone has to guess which the correct definition is. You get one point every time someone guesses your wrong answer, and you get one point for every answer you guess correctly.

For Scattergories, simply write the alphabet down the side of a piece of a paper. Agree on a time limit. An easy way to do this is to put on a CD and use the length of one song as the timer. Then you choose a category and have to list items in that category for each letter that you can. You get one point for each original answer you have (as in, an answer nobody else has). You get two points for alliterative answers. For instance, if the category was Boy Bands and you choose “Herman's Hermits,” you get two points. Some good categories include cities in a particular state, things that rhyme with “late,” one word movie titles, actors in movies with Julia Roberts, famous painters, rappers, or whatever you choose.

Organize a swap

You've watched every movie that you own. So organize to swap other people's movies. If you always trade, then you'll never lose your movies. You can even keep track of who has what, and write your name on your movies that you lend out.

You can also organize a clothing swap, which is when your friends bring together the clothes that they don't want anymore and put them all in a pile. You can find new clothes and get rid of your old ones. The ones that nobody wants you can take to the St. Vincent de Paul.

Stretch your Creativity

Challenge yourself to do something that you have never done before. Write a sonnet; sketch a picture. You'll be surprised at what interest you.

Go to the Park

Okay, this one isn't really staying at home, but it's always a nice way to get out and have fun.
