Now that your website is up and ready to profit, I am sure you are finding ways to get tons of lazer forcussed traffic to your site. You might have tried few of them but you are not yet receiving the kind of traffic that you've dreamed for. Here are 4 tactics, when used on a consistent basis can flood your site with killer targeted website traffic. Use these simple website promotion steps and see your traffic counter explode... Step 1 - Pay Per Click Search Engines. Getting traffic from ppc engines is one of the fastest ways to get traffic to your site. All you have to do is research few keywords in a niche, group them into campaigns and bid them on the ppc engines. More you pay per click, higher will be your ranking in the ppc engines and more traffic you receive. Some tips you can use to get best bang for your buck in the ppc engines... 1. Research hundreds of low cost keywords in your niche. 2. Include your main campaign keyword in your ads.

This will generate more response. 3. Put up a seperate landing page for each ad that includes content related to the ad and the keyword targeted. 4. Focus on generating leads by giving them something valuable for free. You can sell them later by following them up with an auto responder email series. Advertising in ezines is one of the best low cost ways to promote your website. Create an attention grabbing ad and place it in an ezine in your niche where your potential customers exist. If you've a killer response pulling ad, a killer product offer and a targeted ezine that is read by thousands of subscribers, I bet you'll see tons of sales instantly, almost overnight. Here are some tips to get you started and give you the best response for your ad.

1. Make sure you test your ad, landing page and product offer by placing low cost classified or top sponsor ads. 2. Once you have tested your ads then you can roll out to more expensive solo ads. 3. Initially place one ad in 3 ezines. Then test which ezine pulls best response. 4. Once you know the best ezine, then place different ads to test which ad pulls best response. 5. Ask the ezine publisher to give a personal recommendation about your product. For this offer them a copy of your product for free. Personal recommendation will boost up your sales. 6. You can even purchase ads in bulk and get discount for the same. Tell the ezine publisher that you want to place your ad for the next 10 weeks in his newsletter and I am sure he will give you a hefty discount for the same. 7. So you have to have traffic. Not just any old traffic, but targeted high quality traffic from people that are interested in what you are offering. Beware of sites that are willing to send you 10,000 hits for 25 bucks. You get what you pay for.

So how do you get good quality traffic?

1) Although potentially expensive, pay-per-click can be a really good traffic source. The key here is to highly target the traffic. If you are selling fly fishing equipment, you want to bid on "fly fishing", not fishing. You can experiment with different types of keywords, but only do it if you can effectively track everything.

3) Ezine advertising. This is also potentially productive, but testing is critical. Response rates can vary significantly from one ezine to the next and with one ad to the next. Start small in any given ezine, and once you have a successful small ad, then you can make it bigger or go with a bigger subscriber base.

4) Exchange links with other like-minded web site owners. I don't mean link farms or big link exchanges. What I do mean is trading links with sites whose customers compliment your own. For example, if you are selling fly fishing equipment and another company sells deep-sea fishing equipment, you can trade links with that site. You will not be directly competing with the other site, but you are targeting many of the same customers.

That list may seem small, but I prefer quality traffic over volumes of useless traffic. There are many traffic exchanges and list building programs out there, but my attitude is that most of that traffic and subscriber base are others just like you, trying to get traffic. Unless you have a product that specifically targets that customer, stay away from traffic exchanges.
