Anyway, here are some of the things I have learned.
1. Everything changes. That's part of life.
That's right - moving or not, things still change. If you are not changing, you are dead, right? So just make up your mind that this is how life is, and it will be a lot easier.
2. Every place has its good points.
Start searching for the good things about your new situation. Don't just look back in longing to the old place where you were. Look forward to finding good things, and you will.
That's a lot better than just moping and wishing you were someplace else.
3. You can make friends anywhere you go, if you put your mind to it.
Throughout life's changes, you need to make new friends. Even if you stay in one place, changes such as getting married, having children, or taking a new job, often mean you lose track of some friends and you make new friends. It's the same when you move to a new area. You will make new friends - just give it time.
4. Don't lose track of your old friends.
You can send them emails, call them, send cards, and visit. Whatever you do, you should not let these old friendships slide.
5. Look on the bright side.
A positive outlook on life helps you in every situation. You will find what you are looking for, so keep your glass half full or more, and soon it will be overflowing. In other words, search for the goods aspects of life, and that is what you will find.
You give it a little kick with the toe of your shoe, and you hear a small groan from somewhere. You look around but there is no one to be seen, so you give the strange can another kick, this time a bit harder, the groan sounds again this time you are sure it is from within the can.
You stoop down and pick it up, you hold it a little closer to your ear, yes, the sound came from within the can which you notice is grubby and has no shine.
You give a little giggle within yourself and recall the fairy story of the Genie in the lamp. No its a fairy story its not true, but what the ....., you rub the lamp and almost drop it in shock as there is a large puff of smoke and out pops a Genie.
"Hey that hurt", he says rubbing his head. Well he has a head a long tapering body but no feet as he still seems to be attached to the lamp by a spiral of smoke. "Why did you kick me?" he asks as if a bit annoyed by the episode.
"Well I suppose you have released me and read that fairy story of the Genie in the lamp". You silently nod, looking around again in case anyone can see you standing in the middle of a street talking to a ...what....a Genie?
"I suppose then to satisfy your curiosity you want three wishes for me to grant you?"
What would you do?
What would you say?
What would you wish for?
Just stop '
Think about it.
If you are normal, and I have no doubt you are although we have not met, I would imagine you would wish:-
I would like to be rich................. I would like to be happy................. I would like to be successful............
That is what normal people would ask for. Now usually I hate the word - normal - because I would hate to be called normal myself, but for this purpose let us just use that word, you will put your own interpretation on it anyway.
Let us just look at those three wishes and see if I can be your Genie, but be careful how you rub me I am a bit ticklish.
