London has a genuinely diverse population & over 300 languages are spoken within the city. According to 2006 stats, it has a population of 75,124,00, which makes it the most populous municipality in the european union & the second most populous in Europe.

London has been chosen to hold 2012 summer olympics.

London has a rich history that covers more than 2,000 years, which means that it'd be impossible to discuss it all. However, the city was especially badly affected during the 2nd world war.

When the second world war, London was badly bombed. kids were evacuated to the greenery to get away the bombing. the people who remained hid from from bombs in the underground. However, nearly 35 000 londoners were killed, and near 50 000 were seriously injured.

Because it's the capital of the uk, London has the perfect museums in the country. One of the perfect is the Science Museum, which is in south kensington. The museum was formed in 1857 & boasts more than three hundred thousand exhibits, comprising of Puffing Billy & Stephenson's Rocket.

The city boasts plenty of exciting art galleries too, comprising of the National Portrait gallery.

Needless to say that the shopping in London is the finest in great britain. In fact, the city boasts a wide variety of famous shops, which include Harrods & Hamleys.

Camden Town is famous for its alternative stores & fantastic market. it's a varied location, which sells everything from vintage clothing to cds.

Alternatively, shop lovers should head to knightsbridge or mayfair for the more high-end shops. you will find some wonderful designer names in this elite area.

It goes without saying that the shops in London is some of the best in the world. there are countless nightclubs, live music venues, elite bars, cosy inns &Michelin starred theatres to enjoy.

The Met Bar in the metropolitan hotel is one of the city's most well known bars. The wine bar is so elite that its members or hotel guests only after 6 o clock. The wine bar is extremely popular with celebs, which means that you can do some marvellous star spotting there.

As it is such a huge place, London is extremely easy to get to. in fact, it is connected well by rail & boasts some big railway stations, which include London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston & Liverpool street. as well as this, the city also has three massive airports, Heathrow; Stanstead & Luton.

Driving in London can be tricky because of the congestion charge, however the city has a marvellous underground & bus network to help people get around.
