[F895]Friday The 13th Part Viii
by Brian Green, Bri
Weblogs, or simply blogs, are as various as grains of sand, numbering more than 100 million and growing daily. The only true constant is that they contain chronological entries, usually on one (often broad) topic. Given that, the parts of a blog can be hard to pin down. But let us take a brief look at some of the more common parts.

Since all blogs have entries, we can identify seven common components to them:

1. Title - All entries will have a title. This is typically no more than ten words or so which describe the essence of the entrys information, comment, or question.

2. Date : This is the date the entry is made or authored.

3. Author : This is an auspicious sounding term which simply identifies the person who made the entry.

4. Entry : The entry itself is usually text, a new idea, a response to an old idea, feedback on something, but could in some cases include art or other media. This can also be called a "post" as the entry is being posted to the blog.

5. Comments : A comment is more informal than an entry and is typically used for feedback on a specific thought or creative work.

6. Link/permalink : A link of some sort will be listed here. If it is a permalink (often indicated with a "#"sign), then you can be sure that it may be used for this entry regardless of whether the entry is eventually archived or moved somewhere.

7. Category : Unless they are a single, diary-type blog, most blogs have categories or topics by which they are organized.

Another primary feature of any blog is its home page. This is the first page you see when you enter the blog, and therefore functions much like a store window. Commonly found components of a blog home page include:

A. Title : This is the title of the blog itself, much like the name of a store.

B. Latest entry : Usually the latest blog entry will be carried here since it is presumably one of the main reasons to come to this blog. Often but not always the preceding entries, chronologically, are attached below this one.

C. Other links : One or more side bar areas (usually vertical in the right and/or left margin) often contain other links to archived entries, related information sites, etc.

D. Search function : More sophisticated blogs will include a search function which, as you would expect, allows you to search the blog for specific text combinations.

E. Theme : Often colors, font type, pictures and words are combined to give the reader a flavor of what they can expect in the blog content eg formal research, informal comments, funny, opinionated, etc.

F. Other : Other items frequently found on the main blog page include some information about the blog owner, perhaps some rules about what can or cannot be posted to the blog, and a way to contact the blog owner directly. If advertisers are involved, their sponsorship will likely be noted here too.

In conclusion, this not an exhaustive list of all the parts of the Blog but on every blog you will find some parts on this list.

As we mentioned in previous articles depression is a normal response as part of our daily lives such as the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, or illness. Over 30 million Americans suffer from depression and the amount is increasing in an alarming rate. Depression may be a mental disorder that can affect the way you eat and sleep, and the way you feel about yourself. In this article, we will discuss how to treat depression with homeopathy.

1. Aurum metallicum

Aurum metallicum is renowned for its ability to cure the deepest imaginable depressions: suicidal states by providing hope, feeling of worthiness and self esteem. This type of person is usually idealistic and goad oriented. It is very surprising to see that a single patient with a lifetime of joyless existence bloom into happiness after aurum pays for every hour of our years of study.

2. Ignatia

Ignatia originates from the tincture of strychnos ignatia beans of a small tree native to the Philippines containing a substantial amount of strychnine (used in rat poison) and brucine (a bitter alkaloid similar to strychnine). Iganatia relieves the depression caused by an event of grief and sadness.

3. Natrum Muriaticum

Natrum muriaticum is one of the most psychologically complex and poignant remedies in our materia medica. There is an opposite presentation in which the patient seems abnormally open and can discuss even intimate aspects of his life, apparently not at all embarrassed. When a loss or a serious rejection occurs the patient experiences abnormally prolonged grief and depression. Natrum mutiaticum helps to overcome the deep sorrow that people suffered in silence.

4. Sepia

Sepia is a Homeopathic remedy that helps with bouts of depression from loss of sunlight, but it can be differentiated from aurum by its grief, fatigue, sarcasm and irritability aspects. Sepia is especially helpful in treating depression caused by indifference, weepy, angry, overwhelmed, exhausted and depression associated with menopause.

5. Pulsatilla

In external use, the fresh plant of pulsatilla is an irritant herb and produces a benumbing sensation when chewed. It is a powerful herb in treating people with signs of manic depression.
