Yeast infection is often referred to as Candidiasis. Candidiasis is not considered a transmitted disease. However, 12% to 15% of men will develop symptoms such as itching and penile rash following contact with an infected partner. Yeast infections may also occur in association with diabetes or problems that affect the immune system. The increased hormone level causes changes in the environment that make it perfect for fungal growth and nourishment. Is it safe to do two courses of yeast infection treatments? This is a question that goes through the minds of the 7% of women who are unfortunate enough to suffer from recurrent yeast infections. While physically, no damage will be caused by completing two courses of a Candida infection treatment, you have to question the fact, why hasn't the treatment worked the first time?
Once you have treated your Candida infection, whether it was with a natural yeast infection cure or an over the counter Candida cure the infection shouldn't come back. If your yeast infection does return the first thing you should do is go back and see your doctor. Your doctor will be able to diagnose any underlying illness you might have that has been the reason that your Candida infection to become chronic.
Two serious illnesses that can cause chronic yeast infections are the HIV AIDS virus and diabetes . Once these and any other illnesses are eliminated as the cause of your infections you can go about finding the cause of your chronic infections.
Another possibility why a yeast infection comes back for many sufferers is, they didn't complete the first course of treatment. Some sufferers do this because, they either didn't listen to their doctor, or they failed to read the instructions that came with the yeast infection treatment.
With an OTC anti fungal cure the symptoms can go a few days before your Candida infection is actually cured. Some women will discontinue using the treatment when their symptoms disappear because they think that the fungal infection is cured, but this is not what has happened.
When you don't successfully kill all the mutated yeast in your vagina it will become resistant to the medication you're using. This will cause your fungal infection to become recurrent until you use a more powerful yeast infection treatment. This can lead you down the road of having recurrent/chronic yeast infections for years.
If you need to use two courses of treatment for your yeast infection there will be a reason for it. You must see your doctor before you start any mopre treatment. This rules out any underlying illnesses, and also makes sure that you have been treating a yeast infection with the first course of treatment.
