A website distinguishes itself from other websites. This is the main reason as to why the search engine rankings of websites differ from one another. But naturally different websites require separate methods for their development. This should be the core of the structural policy of any SEO working plan. In the following line we discuss the types of different websites with some illustrations. Low Recognition: The websites with very little recognition take longer duration to attain better search ranking. Little Experience: Relatively newly introduced websites do not enjoy the positive respect from visitors in comparison to websites present in the market for a considerable longer period of time and have become reliable. Faulty Past Records :When a website crosses the preset boundary line of fair play, it is seen as an offence and generally goes with a mark of caution only. Repetition of such imperfect happenings on the part of websites is taken as a serious offence resulting in due punishment. Lively and Up-to-date Nature: Websites dealing with recent topics attract attention of a huge section of visitors. Descriptions of lively subjects and incidents also have a large following when produced in a regular fashion and are updated.
In other words, it is the process of enjoying the confidence of search engines in terms of reliability, which makes a website distinguishable from the other. When a new website with very little experience is combined with a site-wide link has every possibility to bear a positive spam signal .On the contrary, such combination with an experienced old website will result in just the opposite. Any type of deviation from the common norms of the procedure is considered as a mistake and is punishable, even incurred by chance. Generally, it is a duration bound penalty and is revoked only after the lapse of such penal period, depending upon the reliability factor of the website. The primary indication of your website being put under penalty net is obvious when it starts showing erratic rather irregular position in search engine rankings. This unnatural movement occurs when Google readjusts its elements in the search mechanism as per its daily schedule. Once your website qualifies for a positive signal from Goggle, your website returns back to normalcy and enjoy your original traffic Reliability Factor: We discuss below the importance of reliability , that can affect several things in the website Exclusion of Copies: Only a single example of a specific type of content in the search results is what a search engine would like to furnish. Search engines have adequate technique to identify the original author of a particular content amidst various copies and will allow the original page only to be visible. In rare cases and particularly in robust media sites, copies are also made visible along with the original. Conclusively, it is the reliability factor and the trustworthiness of a website that influences all these variations. Development Process :Newly born websites do depend a great deal on their activities. They keep on adding links after links to their character and wait for improvement. There is a minimum level, which, once reached, will automatically open the gateway for incoming referrals from search engines. This minimum level is the level of reliability that any website has to attain to gain a status in the search engine ranking. Naturally, with the passage of time the trustworthiness becomes more powerful and hence the positive reaction from search engines are evident in search results. Lookout for Mistakes: A regular checking process is undertaken by search engines to identify signs of spam sites. These signs are different in nature for different sites. Some sites may present uncanny outlines and are not marked as negative ones due to their longer existence as a domain in the web. Whereas, newer sites with the same degree of mistakes would have been penalized Being Up-to-date : Being up-to-date and refreshing means a lot to search engines. Sites with enough guts, posting variety of spirited contents in a regular fashion are rewarded immediately by search engines in the form of high rankings. Dull matters though posted in a regular way do no get such acceptance. Author is the owner of SEO Company. Sure, there are millions of websites out there, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to get your website top rankings in Google, Yahoo, and other search engines. Only a few of those sites are after the same keywords you want to rank for, and even those sites that have "your" keywords on them may not be competition for you. For instance, if your website is about target shooting, you'll easily rank ahead of someone who mentions that target shooting is one of his or her hobbies.
You don't even have to worry about most of the other websites who want to be ranked highly for the same keywords you do, because most webmasters know very little about how to achieve good search engine rankings. And, those who do often engage in website promotion for a few weeks or months and think there job is complete.
Are you motivated enough to spend a few hours a week working on your search engine rankings for the life of your website? If so, you have a good chance of being a big winner in the search engine ranking games. Below are the five activities in which you need to be engaged.
1. Make sure you have proper, well-conceived meta tags. If not, replace them; many websites offer tips on writing meta tags and even help you create them, but here is a good summary. Your title tag should include your best keyword or phrase, and it should come first, if possible. Also, your title should make the nature of your website clear...don't make potential visitors guess what it's about. The keyword tag should list your top keywords or phrases in order of importance. Your description meta tag may be displayed in some search engines and directories, so write one or two sentences designed to interest anyone who reads it.
2. Subscribe to at least three or four of the many good, free website promotion and marketing email newsletters. Among my favorites are the LED Digest at http://www.led-digest.com/content/view/52/77/, Site Reference at http://www.site-reference.com/, and Search Return at http://www.searchreturn.com/subscribe.shtml. Remember that all three have archived editions; read them if you have time.
3. Find a prominent place on your website to add social bookmarking icons that will enable your visitors to quickly and easily help promote it. Among the sites that will generate code for the icons is http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php.
4. Write articles and submit them to article submission websites. You can submit your articles individually or use a submission software tool or service. By including an author's box with your website URL at the end of your articles (like the author's box below, every page) every webmaster that adds your article to his or her site will link to you, helping to improve your search engine rankings (especially on Google).
5. Engage in an ongoing, aggressive link building campaign. Submit your sites to at least the four or five top search engines and every relevant directory with reasonably high Google Page Rank. Then, use a tool like the one on http://www.webuildpages.com/cool-seo-tool/ to see which sites link to your competitors, and ask them to link to you. Or, you can hire an agency (including the one who offers the free tool listed above) to obtain links for you.
Of course, there are other ways to promote your site...social media, press releases, etc. Try them out too. But, by following through on the five items above, and staying with it, you can move your website to a search engine position which will generate the traffic you need to enjoy success.
