[A512]Americas Next Top Model Cycle 8
by Groshan Fabiola, Gro
Though she is an avid fan of America’s Next Top Model, Whitney never really aspired to become a model. The decision to enter America’s Next Top Model came into mind as she departed from her basketball team at Dartmouth. She initially tried out for Cycle 7 but did not make the cut. Determined to discover her full potential, she attempted to pursue modeling on her own.

Later, she got invited to audition for America’s Next Top Model Cycle 8.

Fortunately, she got in made it to the show.

Although she initially came across as one of the strongest contestants of the show, she fell short of her ability to impress the judges of the competition. Being on the bottom two from week 6 to 8 has made her undeniably disappointed. And even though she got eliminated on the show, she maintains that she has no regrets and that she is very pleased and fulfilled that she became part of the popular competition. In fact, she really enjoyed her stint on the show, especially the camaraderie between the girls, and being exposed to different types of people. In addition, she is also very happy with her acquisition of her $40,000 diamond bracelet, which she won on week 5.

After Top Model, this college student from West Palm Beach, Florida will still be pursuing modeling despite her discouraged perception of her capabilities as a model. She has learned so many things from America’s Next Top Model, gaining confidence, how to project or to strike a pose, and many more. But the most important thing she learned is to be you no matter what, which is what she would like to impart to all Top model wannabes.
