[H310]High Blood Pressure And Causes
by Article Manager, Art

High blood pressure is also referred as hypertension. The condition of high blood pressure arises when the force of blood flow increases significantly from the normal pressure in the walls of the arteries. High blood pressure is of two types - Primary and secondary. The primary high blood pressure indicates that there is no specific medical cause or reason to explain the patient's condition. It is also referred as essential high blood pressure. The secondary high blood pressure happens due to the other conditions of the body such as kidney problems or tumors.

During the high blood pressure period, the force of blood flow increases and which raises the pressure on the arteries to flow the blood in the entire body. Arteries are the vessels that carry the blood from the pumping heart to the entire organs of the body. Every time when the heart beats, it pumps out the blood in the vessels with the systolic pressure and when it comes to rest between the beats, it has the low pressure which is called as diastolic pressure.

High blood pressure has several reasons. This means that the multiple factors jointly cause the high blood pressure in the body. However, all the reasons for the problem are not identified; but it has been observed that the high blood pressure tends to develops in the people who have high intake of salt in their diet. The other causes commonly found for the problem are obesity, hereditary susceptibility, advancing age and kidney failure etc. The genetic factor is one of the essential reasons for the hypertension in the younger generations of the family.

The treatments for high blood pressure are few. The patient needs to make significant changes in the diet plan. Intake of salt and caffeine should be reduced from the daily diet. If you have the habit of smoking and drinking habits then it also need to be controlled. The high blood pressure could be controlled even without taking the help of drugs and medicines. It can be cured by herbal medicines and by making some changes in the diet plan. But if the condition of the patient becomes severe then it is recommended to consult the doctor as soon as possible.

According to a recent declaration from the American Medical Association, blood pressure typically should fall in the 120/80 range. This figure is lowered from earlier recommendations for normal systolic and diastolic pressure. Hypertension is a serious and very often a fatal disease. High blood pressure can lead to serious illnesses such as heart or kidney failure, and also stroke.

Bring overweight along with hypertension increases ones chances of developing one or more of these conditions. The older you are, the more likely you are to develop hypertension unless you take multiple steps to prevent it from happening. Carrying too much body weight as a young person predisposes one to hypertension later in life. It has also been thought that hypertension is inherited, which makes the situation more difficult to prevent.

Because the symptoms are not readily apparent, you may not even know that you have hypertension. Assume that you are a candidate for high blood pressure if you are over 40, if there is history of this in your family and if you are overweight.

If you are prone to high blood pressure, your very first step is to cut out sodium from your diet. Stay away from stressful situations and make sure your blood pressure is tested at least every four weeks. To be realistic, however, some of us work in very stressful situations, but you need to do all you can to reduce that stress in your life.

Many social factors (such as smoking and drinking) and psychological causes (such as your job and financial concerns) can contribute to hypertension; whatever the cause you must realize that you won't see tangible signs that you have hypertension and it can not be cured, only managed. Remember that hypertension does not affect just one group. It strikes all types of people, regardless of background. The degree to which is can cause damage to your kidneys, brain and heart all depends on the severity.

In spite of all the precautions taken by you to control your blood pressure, it is possible that you blood pressure may still remain at an unhealthy, high level. The decision of prescribing medication is entirely dependent on the doctor and whether he or she feels it is needed. Some of the drugs can cause side effects, while others can be tolerated more easily. You should not discontinue your prescribed medication because you start to feel better. This can be very dangerous because often hypertension does not present with any noticeable symptoms.

Following a proper diet that does not have sodium in it, altering your lifestyle to have less stress, and other factors allows you to control it. Good health is priceless; don't allow physical or emotional stress to adversely affect your blood pressure. Men are more prone to hypertension, yet most do not know they have it. If you take care of your health, your health will take care of you.
