There are several homemade acne remedies that work very well for a lot of people. One of the major causes of acne is the excess of sebum which leaves a thin oily layer covering the skin and clogs the pores this in turn ends up with many skin disorders such as pimples or zits, white head, black head etc. Homemade remedies usually do not have side effects as long as they are made out of organic substance. You can mix cinnamon powder and honey to prepare a paste and put it on your pimples and the prone area around those pimples at night and gently wash your face with a natural soap and warm water in the morning. After using this home acne remedy for a few weeks you will be able to see a healthy change in your skin condition, this treatment shall also make your skin look fresh.

Another good practice would be to use fresh mint juice and raw papaya juice (include the seeds and skin of papaya). This is a great remedy for many types of skin disorders including eczema and complexion. Cucumber leaves can be used too on the affected and prone regions of skin.

Although there's not much research available when it comes to acne and diet, also it not obvious if certain types of diet worsen or relief your acne, but it is good to see it yourself if there's a correlation between your diet and acne. For an acne sufferer it is a trial and error process. But one thing that is certain is that try to avoid diet that increases toxic level of your body rather drink a lot of water and eat fruits and vegetable that can help you keep your body intoxicated, this will help your skin get clear and fresh.

Another home acne remedies that has worked for some acne sufferer is to apply a paste of sandalwood and rose water for 20 minutes and then wash it with warm water, this is also good to freshen your skin up. Finally the last home remedy that I want to share is the paste of tumeric powder and mint juice and use, apply this paste on your skin for 20 - 30 minutes and later wash it with warm water.

Apart from using homemade and topical acne medications it is also very important to have a good diet that can help you attain a healthy skin. A controlled daily intake of vitamins is also very important since many vitamins for example Vitamin A, Vitamin B2, B3, etc have a significant effect on your skin conditions. Vitamin B6 makes the skin more tenacious and consequently reduces the chances of a pimple outbreak. Zinc, in mild doses, if taken before an outbreak, can prevent acne from happening. It is also a good choice to drink either herbal tea or green tea, since it helps reduce toxic level of your body.

Over the counter and prescription acne treatments often contain chemicals that many people do not wish to use. Instead, these people search for home treatments for acne. There are many home treatments for acne that actually do work. Here are some things you can try.

1. Apply essential oils, such as Tea Tree Oil, Bergamot Oil, Clove Oil, Lavender Oil, and Rosewood Oil. For sensitive skin, dilute the oil with grapeseed oil. Apply the oil before going to bed at night, then wash it away in the morning with a pure soap, such as Ivory, and clean water.

2. If you are not taking any medications that could cause you to be overly sensitive to the sun, try getting some sunshine everyday. The purpose is not to tan to hide the acne. Instead, the sun actually kills the bacteria, and dries up the sebum oil that produces acne. This is a common home treatment for acne that doesn't cost anything.

3. Acne begins on the inside of the body, not on the surface of the skin. Drink plenty of water - at least eight glasses per day - to help detoxify your body and cure acne. Also eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

4. For home treatment for acne, apply an oatmeal mask at least once or twice a week. Cook oatmeal, and while it is still warm (not scalding hot) apply it to your entire face. Allow the oatmeal to dry, then wash it away. You can also use dried oatmeal, dampened - but not cooked - with warm water as a facial scrub to exfolliate the skin and clean the pores.

5. Avoid eating processed foods, and stick to more natural fruits and vegetables. No food has ever been scientifically proven to cause acne, however, if you have a food allergy, the allergy often results in acne. Many people have food allergies, and go their entire lives without knowing it. Don't assume that a food allergy will leave you unconscious on the floor - the allergic reaction can appear in many forms, like acne breakouts. You can visit an allergist for a simple blood test to find out if you have any food allergies.

There are many other home treatments for acne, some of which work, and some of which do not work. The important thing is to drink plenty of water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, get plenty of sleep, wash your face at least twice a day, and take vitamins - especially vitamin A and vitamin E.
