[H428]Hiv Infection And Symptoms
by Guy 58 Weber 58, Guy
The best way to fight the disease of AIDS is by creating awareness about its causes and source.

AIDS or Acquired Immunodeficiency Virus is one of the most deadly diseases known to man today, for which apparently there is no cure. The first case for AIDS was reported in 1981. Since then, more than million cases of AIDS infection have been reported worldwide. This is the only disease till date for which the scientists and medical experts have failed to find a cure.

AIDS works by slowly and gradually breaking down the immune system of an individual, thus making him susceptible to a number of deadly diseases, which may ultimately take a toll on his health and prove fatal. Some people also call this deadly disease as one of the most advanced stages of HIV, where an individual has reached the last stage.

This last stage can be called as a point-of-no-return, since no amount of medicines and preventive treatment can mitigate the effects of the disease. This disease can only be controlled from going bad to worse, but it is impossible to completely treat an individual who is suffering from AIDS.

The sad part is that a large number of people who may be suffering from AIDS are not even aware of it, till the situation worsens. However, the medical experts have come up with a list of few symptoms, which could serve as an alarm bell for people who might be actually suffering from it. Some of the symptoms of AIDS include:

?People who may experience sudden changes in their breathing patterns and have trouble in breathing normally, after they indulge in even minor physically-strenuous activities should get themselves checked. People who do not smoke, are not asthmatic and still experience shortness of breath are the ones who need to observe more precautions and get checked for AIDS.
?A sudden seizure where an individual may lose his sense of coordination is another symptom of AIDS.
?A person infected with AIDS will also have trouble in swallowing the food. In fact, painful swallowing is one of the most characteristic symptoms of AIDS.
?Other mental symptoms of AIDS include a confused state of mind. A person may suddenly become forgetful of his surroundings and daily habits, if he is suffering from the disease.
?Other symptoms of HIV, such as diarrhea and sinus remain persistent and become acute; it could be possible that the person has developed AIDS.
?One of the most deadly symptoms of AIDS is when the patient may slip into coma for an indefinable period of time.
?Symptoms, such as extreme weight loss, severe headaches, and vision loss could also be some other symptoms of AIDS.

AIDS is a disease that can be contracted by any individual, irrespective of their age. Even minor children, can contract these disease from their parents and may be suffering from the same symptoms as the elders do. In addition to the above-mentioned symptoms, other symptoms of AIDS in children include eye, ear and throat infections, such as tonsillitis ad conjunctivitis.
