‘The Money’s in the list’
A saying heard by affiliate marketers from all around the world. But how true is it?
From my experience it is very true. There is no question money can be made on the internet with no list although when it comes to internet marketing a list is a massive bonus!!!
Money made from one’s own product is all well and good but making money from other people’s products by simply sending out a few emails to targeted buyers you can make more money than you thought possible!!
There’s only 1 problem… How to get a list of hungry targeted buyers in the first place!!
When I started, I struggled with this. I, as many marketers, began with nothing. No product, no website, no clue!! However where others have given up I carried on and researched how to do it. Where to begin, what I had to do and eventually I learnt and started my list and it has been getting bigger ever since!!
Now what you need to start building a list is a website. There are many places you can get a website for free and get it up and running.
Next you require an incentive. The most important thing is an incentive to get your traffic to opt in. Without a good reason for them to opt in you will not get their names and email addresses which is really what we want!!!
When you have your website and incentive in place you need traffic.
There’s a lot of ways to get traffic.
When I started out I found that buying traffic was a half decent way to get a few names. When buying traffic though you will not always get targeted visitors but you will get a few.
Once the visitors land on your page, this is where the incentive really gets to work as your visitors will want a good one to opt in. Once they have opted in though you have that name forever, unless they unsubscribe of course, but that’s where you give them good content, information, tips on the niche you have chosen to work in!!
Other means of getting traffic are to get your website up the Google rankings. This is done through linking, bookmarking, article marketing etc…
