I don't know what part of the world you come from, but by golly it gets a bit nippy in our neck of the woods during those long, cold, winter months. Well, I'm happy to say that most of the unpleasantness of those icy cold days stays where it belongs, outside! It wasn't always like that though. In fact, we used to suffer along with everyone else until we discovered the benefits of floor heating systems. I can't even begin to tell you how much they have improved the warmth and coziness of our home.

Most home hunters go out looking for a first home or a change of home in the spring and summer months. This is fine, as we all want to see a potential property in the bright light of day, but it doesn't give us much of an opportunity to check out the heating system in the building. This is exactly what happened to us. We had storage heaters which were great for waking up in the mornings, but by the time we came home perished in the evening, we opened the door to the Baltic and had to get the gas fire blasting on all fours. The problem with this is that is was a very uncomfortable type of heat. Kind of dry and heady. There are numerous types of these floor heating systems available and although we knew very little about them, they have been around for quite a while apparently. What they do is warm everything in the room with a consistent, uniform heat which is very comfortable. This means that there are no more cold floors or drafty rooms to endure, and we can personally vouch for that. After the initial cost of purchase and installation, we found that the manufactures claims that these floor heating systems could reduce operating costs by up to 30% were accurate. Now how's that for an added bonus! Another benefit is that they are very clean and very quiet. No noisy fans or dry air getting blown around creating nasty allergens, dust particles or unpleasant odors throughout the home.

Unlike our old storage heaters that had to be preset before they kicked in over night, most modern floor heating systems will give you zone control, which means room-by-room temperature control at your fingertips (if you have them installed in more than one room of course!). You can actually adjust the temperature to meet your specific requirements for a particular room or particular time of day.

I can't say enough good about floor heating systems and my wife and I are very happy campers with our investment. Very happy!
