[I191]In A Niche Market
by Grant Andrew Brown Brown, Gra
Analyze what you are selling or what you want to sell. It should be in an area that you know a lot about. It may have wide appeal, but think of those it appeals to most. For example, does your product appeal to musicians? That's a pretty wide market. Now narrow it down. Who is most likely to be interested, singers or instrumentalists? From there you might want or need to narrow it even further. For example, your product might appeal to musicians of a certain age, or musicians who favor a certain kind of music or even a particular singer.

After narrowing it down as far as you can, think of appropriate keywords. Check with Google to see how many sites come up using these keywords. Next use a site that tracks keyword usage (such as Word Tracker or Overature) to see if there are plenty of users looking for that information. If there are enough potential customers and the competition is low, you may have found your niche.

After you have chosen your niche, try to use it in your website title. This can help your website ranking. Another tool for choosing a niche is to study the competition and find out how to make your site unique.

Choosing a niche will help your website stand out. Find one with plenty of potential customers and little competition and you have a very good chance of watching your business grow.

When people want to sell their own product the first and biggest mistake they tend to make is that they develop their product first. Then they go out searching for a market for it to sell in. It does not matter if you trade on or off the internet; the first thing you should always do is first find the niche market and then develop the product to suit.

Searching for a niche market is certainly easier said than done, but there are many online resources where you can do your market research for free. You just need to know where to go and what to do to match market with product and vice versa. When you believe you have found a niche market then the work really begins and there are a number of important questions that you need to answer.

The first question is about yourself and the niche chosen ? are you interested in the niche or could you have the passion for it? If you are positive about the niche then you need to determine if other people are interested if not passionate about the niche also and if they actually spend money on products in that target area.

Then you need to decide if the market is big enough, but not so oversized as to give you to much competition. Also more research will determine what is being sold successfully and can you sell something similar. Can you see where something is lacking and can you fill the void with something that will sell.

With the niche decided upon and everything in place to market your product then there is one last very big question that needs to be answered ? How much do you sell it for? Now this is where you go back to your research of earlier and check out the level of price of similar items and the type of offers that come with the deal! On analysing you research of prices you will probably find that there are three types of marketing method associated with the offers being made by your competition.

The three methods that you will find are those of up-sell, cross-sell and Back-end sale. The up-sell pricing is where a buyer is offered the item for a price but before he is able to pay he is offer something at a higher price, like an upgrade of a membership! With cross-sell this is an attempt to get the prospective purchaser to buy other related items before he pays for his initial item. With the final method of back-sell this is put into operation after the purchasers has paid and received and there has been a time lapse of days where another similar offer or completely different is sent by email to him.

The decision of which way to market is yours but if one way does not work well you can always try one of the other two ways.
