[I4]I Am So Angry
by Iprwire Staff Writer, Ipr
Your decision making , is based on your emotions. Negative emotion ? wrong decision ? bad result. Anger is an emotion that you feel when something irritates you. It can be just a small annoyance or a full blown outrage. Your perception of anger was learned in the form of beliefs and values that were instilled in you. Usually in the early stages of your emotional development. When any of your beliefs or values are questioned or transgressed, you may feel anger. The degree of intensity depends on your state of mind at the particular time of the incident.

Your feelings of anger are either expressed, as in the form of arguing or physically lashing out, or suppressed. Suppressed anger causes negative emotions to dominate which can lead to depression. It can also express itself as a physical ailment, example, high blood pressure.

Expressing anger is said to be your better alternative. Although it may bring you some relief, it also has its downside. It may compound the problem and also affect you physically. One of the physical side effects is it lowers your immune system. What would be one of the best ways to deal with anger?

Release. The first thing you need to do is to recognize and admit that you are angry, (never pretend you are not angry when you know you are). It is widely accepted that people who always want to be in control, seem to suffer mostly from outbursts of anger. When you are angry you will notice that you stop breathing periodically. You tend to hold your breath, so keep breathing with intervals of deep breathing. Then recognize the problem for what it is, and not for what you think it is. After all you are dealing with somebody else's belief and value system. Just tell yourself, they also have a right to express their opinions.

When you do get angry, much of the blood in your brain flows to the back of your head. It goes to the primitive part of the brain where it automatically prepares you for fight or flight. The frontal lobes of the brain (forehead) are associated with thought, pleasure, creativeness and calmness.

If you simply put two fingers on one side of your forehead and your thumb on the other side, and just gently hold them there while breathing without any pauses. The blood will flow back to your frontal lobes, bringing about some calmness. When you feel relaxed and the issue/s does not bother you any more release your finger and thumb from your forehead. And of course, you can apply the technique to someone else, especially infants.

My greatest fear is that my life will be unfulfilled. My daughters biggest fear is that an evil person might take or hurt one of her three young children. Recently, I met a woman whose biggest fear is cancer. My elderly neighbors biggest fear is dieing alone. What is your biggest fear? Does fear seem to control you?

Have you ever felt fear because you knew that the problem you were facing took away all of your control? A fear that drove you to your knees begging God to protect you from the dread of pain. A fear that consumed your every wakening thought and made you so afraid that you couldn't eat. All you could do was cry and wonder why is this happening to me?

Many people in life today feel fear when they are met with the reality of a life threatening disease, natural disaster, or maybe even with the uncertainty of a relationship where you were in love, but the other person was in it for the wrong reasons. Everyone has experienced these feelings of total helplessness, life situations that make you feel that you are not in control of the outcome that is affecting your life.

Today we live where the News on television is constantly blaring images of horrible things happening all over the world. Forcing us, during commercial breaks, to see the evil that people perpetrate on each other through wars, murders and civil disputes. Whether we like it or not we will be witnesses to these evil crimes through the media we invite into our homes everyday.

We see the news of soaring gas prices in our newspapers and on our computers. We see constant headlines outlining the economic crunches combined with job loss and telling us that our world has so many problems that almost none of them can be solved. The constant bombardment of information can take the heart of a strong man and make him afraid.

How could you not be afraid when disasters, diseases, and famines are constantly reminding us of how uncertain life can be? If this is not enough, then we are reminded through made up television programs if God loves people then why is there so many bad things happening to them in the first place. So now our faith has been undermined and we feel deserted in an evil world with no hope at all.

Recently I was contacted by a woman who was in the throws of uncontrollable fear. She was afraid that either she or a member of her immediate family was going to be consumed by cancer. I asked why she felt this way and she began to tell me all about the people she knew who had either died or survived cancer. She was so much in a state of fear that she stated that she just didn't know how she could believe in God when there seemed to be an epidemic of cancer spreading everywhere.

Understanding the every day dilemmas found in the world and the anxiety brought on by her extreme emotions, I explained to her why she was so afraid. Many people do not understand that we live in a world that demands that we either believe in God or we will fall prey to the evil workings of Satan. We live in a learning world. A world where we must learn the difference between right and wrong.

Gaining wisdom makes us look directly into the face of evil and determine for ourselves why it is bad. The only way we can do this is by being presented with opposites. These opposites are like the difference between peace and war, good health and disease, love and hate, and of course truth and deception. Every one of these make us see why our world is evil.

When Adam and Eve sinned they released Satan into the world. From that moment Satan became god over man. This is the reason why Cain killed Abel, why a flood destroyed the earth except for Noah, why God chose Israel to suffer as slaves in order to teach people how to defend themselves from the devil.

Satan has the power to enter our minds and tempt us to sin. Sin is doing anything that leads us away from the perfect plan of God. Sin is evil because it demands that we don't care about anyone except ourselves. God is opposite from sin. God is love and He helps people. Jesus came to be the Savior of the world. He rescues people from Satan when we place our trust in Him.

If we don't place our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior then we are immediately put in danger of totally being destroyed by Satan. If we are a Christian, but we don't practice our faith, then we are in danger of whatever Satan wants to throw at us because we are not defending ourselves from his snares. If we are a Christian and we practice our faith then we will be tested by what we face in the world in order for us to learn the difference between right and wrong.

In the Old Testament God explains just what will happen if you don't practice your faith. This is the reality of our world today. This is the reason why people are depressed, afraid and have given up on life. When you don't understand what you are fighting against then you are destined to fail.

Deuteronomy 28: 65-67, "You will find no peace anywhere, no place to call your own; the Lord will overwhelm you with anxiety, hopelessness, and despair. Your life will always be in danger. Day and night you will be filled with terror, and you will live in constant fear of death. Your hearts will pound with fear at everything you see. Every morning you will wish for evening; every evening you will wish for morning."

In this passage the Lord refers to Satan's ability to hurt people when they don't understand that they are in a great game of life that demands that you either activate your faith in the saving power of Jesus or you fail! Satan makes you afraid of job loss, high food and gas prices, cancer, crime, and becoming a victim to anything that can destroy your life.

When Jesus Christ came He taught His disciples a simple prayer of faith, "The Lord's Prayer'. Jesus covered everything that a person would ever come up against in this revolutionary prayer.

Matthew 6:9b-13, "Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need. Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us. Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One."

When God is honored in our world then love and service reigns in people's lives. Praying for God's will is praying for God to defeat Satan and the evil he perpetrates against people. When we pray for our daily needs then we are believing and trusting God to give us what we need. This does not mean He is going to make us rich, it means that we can count on God to give us just what we need at the time we need it. As Christian's our desire is for all men to come to the knowledge of God, this is the reason we pray for those who have done us wrong. When we pray for protection from Satan we are acknowledging that he tempts people and he is the adversary of all men.

Cancer and the bad things that happen to people can truly be a scary thing to see, but when we follow Jesus Christ, He gives us the strength to overcome fear. When you follow Christ your fear makes you become an intercessor for those who are going through hard things in the world.

Fear leads a Christian to take action by fighting Satan through service to those who are in need. Christians show unconditional love by helping others who are in need. If it's sickness then they pray and help with home care, food or taking care of children. If it is job loss, devastation as a result of a storm, fire, war or even famine; Christians give money, support and refuge.

Romans 12: 9-12, "Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good. Love one another warmly as Christian brothers, and be eager to show respect for one another. Work hard and do not be lazy. Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion. Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times."

"I am so afraid" is not in the vocabulary of a Christian who is playing their game of life to win. Fear is a weapon of Satan that is debilitating. Satan wants us to give up our faith in God by making us see how impossible life is when we look at the full picture of evil that is present in the world. God tells us to hate evil and to be patient. Jesus tells us to love one another warmly. Satan wants us to give up and stop praying for help. Jesus wants us to trust Him with our lives and to have joy in the hope that we will be rewarded for everything we have endured by an eternity of perfection in Heaven.
