There are many ways you can get started. You can make money online selling the idea of working a home business or you can make money in markets outside the home business arena, niche markets, as they are known in the business.
I am an affiliate marketer, meaning I sell other business owner's products and services for a profit.
In my opinion, this is the best way to earn money online. Why? Well, because it's my business.
Seriously though, not having to sell my own products means I don't have to deal with product delivery and aftersales support which gives me more time to concentrate on building more income streams for my business. It also gives me a lot more time to spend with my family, and doing the things that I like doing, that most certainly don't involve working.
The reason I set up my online business, which has been running now since 1998, was precisely because I wanted more free time and I didn't want to work the 9-5 grind for the rest of my life. Affiliate marketing does this for me more than any other business would.
Think about it! Work 'til your 65 then retire with a measly pension, barely enough to live on. And as the saying goes, then you die...Is that your idea of how you want to live the rest of your life? Obviously not, or you wouldn't be on this page looking to set up your own home based business.
The are many legitimate online businesses with legitimate business owners waiting to help you get started. The main thing is though that you need to realize that there is work involved and like any business it does take some investment. Not nearly as much as it does to set up offline.
We are talking more like dollars to get set up in online business, not $1000s that it would take to start a business in the 'real' world.
If the willingness is there and you're ready to get started and to put in the work then you will surely succeed at whatever you aspire to online. It's not easy but it IS worthwhile.

You may find that having a company that revolves around your natural talents and abilities can keep you enticed with your job for years to come. If you are artistic, you may want to consider selling your artwork or designing signage for other companies. You may be skilled in carpentry and sell hand-made furniture or restore antiques. The possibilities are endless when you consider what you are interested in and how to turn those passions into money making ideas. If you are interested in animals or children, you may want to consider starting a business that allows you to work directly with them.
Starting a business that you can passionately enjoy can help you to stay interested for the rest of your life. Venturing into new areas of your passions can often turn out well for you and give you a little bit of freedom from the mundane life that you have been living in the 9 to 5 world.
