[I111]Ideas For A Costume Party
by Raymond Plona, Ray

When you go for a costume party, make sure the costume you choose is suitable to the theme of the costume party. This is because; a costume party would usually carry a theme. You wouldn't want to wear something that will totally exclude you from the theme. Besides, you will look out of place.

Even for a costume party, you can be sure that there will be plenty of outfit to wear. You might be worried about turning up in the same outfit as another guest but don't let that bug you. Your costume can be uniquely yours such as some decor or embellishment that can make it a little different from another outfit of the same kind.

When you want to go for a costume party, make sure you do some research before hand so that you don't end up wearing something that is so common and expected. Don't just turn up as a cowboy when the theme is the Wild West. What are the other groups of people during that time? You may want to find a costume of an Indian chief or even a Mexican highway man. After you have done your research and probably have the look you want, print the picture of that costume and bring it to the store to buy items that looks like it or even have it custom made for you.

Now if you're really not the adventurous type and do not wish to settle far from what is traditional, given the same kind of example a while ago, for cowboy-themed parties, a long-sleeved denim jacket worn over a dark printed collared shirt, a pair of faded denim pants with a matching leather belt with a prominent buckle. A pair of worn-out boots and of course, the cowboy hat will already be sufficiently fine.

If you have your clothes bought, rent or custom made, it does not mean that you should spend more for the accessories too. You can make your own accessories not only to save budget but also to make your outfit more interesting. This is your time to show off your creativity. You can make your own crown if you are dressed as a royal. You can make your own badge if you are dressed as a military officer or create the perfect broom for the witch. Your own accessories will further enhance your women's costumes
and make it more unique.

Sometimes, you can find a costume derived from a famous movie that becomes very popular. For instance, there was suddenly a fad for the pirates costume like the one worn by Johnny Depp when acting as Captain Jack Sparrow. An outfit like that required a good sense of mixing and matching different clothes. If you're looking for something that is easy on the wallet, you should try looking for costume at the clearance party supplies. Who knows, you might just find a steal there!

A costume party is the only place you can be both crazy and creative. You just need to pair your outfit with some confidence and you can look fun and good too. So use the opportunity and go crazy with your ideas!

Costume parties are always a big hit-so why not try hosting one? They're timeless, fun, unique, and should never be outgrown. At a costume party, adults can wear something that they otherwise wouldn't want to be caught dead in (or "undead" in, if you favor vampire or mummy costumes). You can even hide your identity entirely for the entire evening with a mask or hood. In the America, costume parties are most common around Halloween, which is when they serve as teenage and adult alternatives to trick-or-treating. Every year, they're a great way to get out and enjoy the Halloween spirit. And if you don't usually enjoy being at parties with tons of strangers, don't worry. Even the shyest will be able to talk to strangers because everyone's crazy costumes make great conversation starters.

So, you're convinced: you want to host a costume party. Here are some important tips: as with any party, hosting a costume bash requires some careful planning. First, it's a good idea to choose a theme. This makes the party more fun, and gives your guests a clearer idea of how they should dress. Party themes include, but are certainly not limited to, cartoon characters, sports, movies, TV shows, Hawaiian luaus, and westerns. Then get your invitations mailed at least three weeks before the party so people have plenty of time to find a good costume. And of course, no one wants to be at a slow boring party. To prevent such a disaster, there are several things you can do. For starters, get music. It is impossible to have a good costume party without music that reflects your theme. Decorations, though often considered only good for kid parties, will add life to your party by setting the mood and atmosphere. A good costume contest inspires everyone to take the dress-up part of your party seriously, and builds lots of excitement because everyone wants to know who's going to win. (To keep everybody happy the party should probably have two contests with separate categories, so there's a better a chance of winning for everyone). Think carefully about which refreshments with coincide with your theme, and make sure there's enough for everyone because the food can make or break a party. Lastly, when appropriate, you can hold baccarat, roulette, poker, and other casino games during the evening.

But the most important aspect of being a costume party host is to have fun. If you're not, no one will. Let yourself relax, feel good, and look great in your costume. If you enjoy the moment, you'll be able to enjoy the memories for years to come.
