Clozaril Dosage

* The usual starting dose is half of a 25-milligram tablet and you should be taken 1 or 2 times daily.

Uses of Clozaril

Side Effects of Clozaril

Before taken Clozaril medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Clozaril. Side effects may include:

* Blood disorders
* Constipation
* Drowsiness
* Fever
* Headache
* Low blood pressure
* Nausea
* Salivation
* Rapid heartbeat
* Tremor
* Vertigo

Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

* seizure (black-out or convulsions);
* fainting, light-headedness;
* shallow breathing, weak pulse;
* high fever with muscle stiffness, confusion, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats;
* witching or uncontrolled muscle movements; or
* nausea, stomach pain, low fever, lost appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Warnings and precautions before taking Clozaril:

* You should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant. If you become pregnant while you are taking clozapine, then you should call your doctor immediately.
* If you are having surgery such as dental surgery, then you should tell the doctor that you are taking clozapine.
* ?If you are taking prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products, then you should tell your doctor.

* Clozapine may cause low blood pressure or dizzines.
* Tell your doctor if you are allergic to clozapine.
* Clozapine can cause a serious blood condition that is known as agranulocytosis. Your doctor or pharmacist can give you more information on this.
* Clozapine may cause seizures. Tell your doctor if have a history of seizures.

* Drug Interaction :-

Let your doctor, nurse of pharmacist know about all the medications that you are taking, either by prescription or over-the-counter, including herbal supplements.

Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medications:

o amantadine
o barbiturates
o bromocriptine (Parlodel)
o carbamazapine (Tegretol)
o cimetidine (Tagamet Tagamet HB)
o erythromycin
o fluconazole (Diflucan)
o cortisone-like drugs (prednisone; hydrocortisone)
o itraconazole (Sporanox)

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention if you have used too much of this medicine. Symptoms of a clozapine overdose. Symptoms of a Clozaril overdose include:

* Coma
* Delirium
* Excess salivation
* Low blood pressure
* Faintness
* Pneumonia
* Rapid heartbeat
* Seizures
* Absence of breathing
* Confusion
* Fast heart rate
* Drowsiness
* Drooling
* Dfficulty breathing.

Be sure to report any symptoms that develop while on Cognex therapy. You should alert the doctor if the person you are caring for develops nausea, vomiting, loose stools, or diarrhea at the start of therapy or when the dosage is increased. Later in therapy, be on the lookout for rash or fever, yellowing of the eyes and skin, or changes in the color of the stool.

Warnings and precautions before taking Cognex:

* You should be used Cognex with caution if the person you are caring for has a history of liver disease, certain heart disorders, stomach ulcers, or asthma.
* Before having any surgery such as dental surgery, you should tell the doctor that the person is being treated with Cognex.
* If you are taking this drug, then it may cause seizures, and may also cause difficulty urinating.

Drug Interaction :- Tell your doctor of all nonprescription or prescription medication you may use, especially of: theophylline, cimetidine, "cholinergic-type" drugs such as bethanechol, "anticholinergics" such as atropine, antihistamines such as diphenhydramine, succinylcholine, NSAID drugs (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen), fluvoxamine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Overdose

After taken Cognex if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Cognex overdose include

* Collapse
* Extreme muscle weakness
* Possibly ending in death
* Low blood pressure
* Nausea
* Salivation
* Vomiting
