[I89]I Want To Stop Drinking
by Ed Philips, Ed
Alcoholics Anonymous, which is widely known as AA is in fact the largest joint support group in the world for anyone who wants to kick the habit of alcohol consumption. AA consists of a bunch of men and women who have previously suffered or who are currently suffering from alcohol dependency, and who support each other in fighting their addiction. Anyone who believes they are an alcoholic can find valuable support in the local AA centre.

AA colleagues would never say to your face "you're an alcoholic", which leaves it down to you to face up to it. Common symptoms include a constant desire to consume alcohol, always over drinking and the feeling of dependency to alcohol just to get you through the day or night. If you do suffer from any of the previous then you must consider yourself to be an alcoholic or alcoholic dependant person.

Some people who are able to consume vast quantities of alcohol without losing their senses believe themselves not to be alcoholics, but this can also be considered as another symptom of being an alcoholic.

As soon as you are certain that you are alcohol dependent, then first you must abstain from drinking as much as you can to kick the habit. Although it is easy to tell someone to cut back on alcohol consumption, it is not possible for an alcoholic to carry out this advice due to the condition that they are suffering from.

Therefore, it is important for alcohol dependent people to seek support at these times from people who have managed to or are in the process of kicking the habit and this is the core group forming Alcoholics Anonymous.

Alcoholics Anonymous is without a doubt unique regarding its neutral politics and opens its door to anyone regardless of race or colour. It neither bias towards religion nor social background and its only goal is that of collective non-alcoholism.

AA is a self support group both run by and motivated by people who have or had problems with alcohol dependency and they would welcome in anyone and it's totally free. You are under no obligation whatsoever in joining, apart from the desire to stop drinking alcohol.

Alcoholics Anonymous is renowned as being the number one self help organization in the whole world and AA branches are widespread in every leading major city. Generally the members get together on a weekly basis and will discuss their problems related to the consumption of alcohol. They will also explore such matters as how they plan to give up, what actually made them want to give up in the first place and the positive and negative changes in their lives both as alcoholics and after having kicked the habit.

Alcoholics Anonymous membership is free for all. The organization does not solicit members but all are free to come and go as they please. There are no attendance or membership records. However, the organization does have a buddy system, where one person is codependent on the other and vice versa, and each one tries to prevent their partner from getting a relapse.

So as you can see it is made so easy for anyone in need to join Alcoholics Anonymous and all group therapy is overseen by experts qualified in helping people kick drinking alcohol. You too could just assist a couple of meetings at your local AA branch and see what a difference it makes.

So how do you make your target readers stop, do more than glance, and respond to your PrintPlace.com postcards? With so many print documents vying for your target clients’ attention everyday and every hour, how can you make them stop and listen (in this case, read and understand)?

With Consistency:

With so much information you want to include in your postcard printing project, you would sure want to have a big space to put everything in. However, with your postcard printing project’s limited space, we know for a fact that you can’t very well do that.

That is why you need to focus and highlight on one particular message for your PrintPlace.com postcards – one objective, one goal, one product or service. Everything should point to that one specific idea. Consistency is the key to getting that sought after impact. The folly of having more than one message in your postcard printing project lessens the impact of it.

Before you start your postcard printing project, you should already have a clear idea and understanding of what you would want to say in your PrintPlace.com postcards. This means that you make it easy for your target readers to know exactly and instantly what you want from them and what you want them to do with your postcard printing project.

With Significance:

The impact of your postcard printing project depends on what you have to offer to whom. It just means that you don’t offer cat food to dogs. Do you have the right message to the appropriate target readers? Are you sure that what you have in your postcard printing project is what your target clients need?

Even if you have the most well designed and hired the best writer to come up with a smashing postcard printing piece, if your target readers are not interested in what you have to offer, all will be lost. Everything would just be money down the drain.

The most important part of creating your postcard printing project is knowing what your prospective clients need and giving them what they want. If you do that, more than likely that your target audience would have a heck of a time putting your PrintPlace.com postcards in the garbage bin.

With Simplicity:

Being beautiful doesn’t mean you have to put all your make-up in your face to make it more attractive to others. You just might come out looking like a clown; you’d sure get the attention of a lot of people, but for all the wrong reasons.

This is also true to your postcard printing project. To make your postcard printing pieces more attractive doesn’t mean you have to include all your images, color and great design. Remember that you only have a small space to do all that. In addition to making your postcard printing piece crowded, you’d only make your target readers’ heads spin and confused. They’d have a hard time sorting out your message from all the elements in your postcard printing project. Again, less impact for your postcard printing piece.

Simplicity is still the best advice any designer could ever give you for your postcard printing project. So take heed.
