[L15]Lady Gaga Concert Tickets
by Meaghan Clark, Mea

Gaining as much notoriety for her electro-pop appearance as for her comparisons to the newly remade Christina Aguilera, the Manhattan native Lady GaGa doesn't care what has jet set her career to mainstream success, she's just grateful for it. After making waves with the underground scene in New York, performing at clubs like The Bitter End in Greenwich Village, “GaGa,” as her friends have deemed her, has learned to take everything in stride. “Most artists don't go on arena tours before their albums drops,” Lady GaGa talks to Pollstar about her new tour with New Kids on the Block. “But I don't think anybody can deny my abilities as a performer. That's the bottom line.” And so, out pops Lady GaGa, who will undeniably only become a more generous star in the future defined by her neutrality and more, now is the time to get your own Lady GaGa tickets, where the best place to find her eccentric style is always http://www.stubhub.com/lady-gaga-tickets.

Just 22 years old, the futuristic female wasn't caught off guard when Aguilera, who appeared at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards with a similar frock to GaGa, dared to question GaGa's sexuality. “I talk about Grace Jones and David Bowie all the time,” Lady GaGa said to The London Free Press. “And I love androgynous fashion, so she's just picking up on the Andy Warhol in me.” The pop artist earned her stage name (she was born Stefani Germanotta) after the 1984 Queen hit “Radio Ga Ga,” and her love for theatrics. The road to The Fame, her debut album, was messy.

“Hustling,” as she deems it to Pollstar, from the time she was a teen in New York City's open mic nights, the young starlet chose to perform her own background material rather than carry around the typical boom-box like other pop acts. “I did a couple of different things,” she told Pollstar. “First I started at the piano – because I play piano – and then I had a band that I put together in college that last about a year.” Later she added beats she created from her Macbook Pro, and eventually threw her beats onto a vinyl made at a local store.

It wasn't long before GaGa started making some headlines of her own, but at first it was more for her mad poetic skills than her voice. Signing to Interscope Records as a lyricist, she has penned singles for pop acts including the Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears and was eventually confident enough to start working on her own material. The Fame cites her influences David Bowie and Queen but also delves into the pop atmosphere that she first worked with. “I wanted to write a hit record,” GaGa says to The Independent. “Something that was shameless and totally, 100 per cent bubblegum pop, but still avant-garde and Pop Art in that Andy Warhol way that I really strive to be. I want to make pop music that's commercial, but is considered fine art.” Well, to say the least GaGa has hit her mark with pop singles “Poker Face” and “Just Dance,” electro-pop Billboard charting singles that incorporate both the Spears-type of pop GaGa pens along with a quirky Warhol feminism.
