To find out how Americans feel about New Year’s, love and Valentine’s Day, Baskin-Robbins conducted a survey in collaboration with Insight Express. One thousand Americans were polled and asked about their thoughts and habits when it comes to New Year’s resolutions and the season of love. Below are some interesting statistics and findings from the recent survey.
New Year’s Resolution Survey Findings •New Year’s resolutions are always a hot topic in January, but how many people actually make a resolution? Sixty-five percent of Americans said they do not make resolutions.
•Among the Americans who do make resolutions, 28 percent only keep their resolution for one day!
•With so many resolutions only lasting 24 hours, it is no surprise 63 percent of Americans do not remember the resolution they made 12 months before.
Valentine’s Day Survey Findings •Tech-savvy Casanovas will not be texting or emailing love notes this Valentine’s Day. Eighty-nine percent of Americans will wish their sweetheart a happy Valentine’s Day the old-fashioned way, in person.
•Thirty percent of Americans stated they do not need a Valentine’s Day gift, proving love is what the holiday is all about.
•According to the survey, Americans do not plan to buy their loved one jewelry or take them on an exotic trip for Valentine’s Day. Instead, 50 percent plan to take their loved one to dinner, and 33 percent will buy chocolates.
•When do people begin shopping for Valentine’s Day? Thirty-five percent of Americans wait until two weeks before the holiday. It is no surprise then, 71 percent of people purchase a Valentine’s Day gift because they “saw it and had to get it."
•Americans do not plan to empty their wallets this Valentine’s Day, 36 percent of people stated they will only spend $20 to $50 on their loved one.
