One of the true great cities of the world, London is a year-round tourist mecca. Few cities can offer the wealth of historical and cultural splendour that London does. From the pageantry, pomp and ceremony of the royal quarter to the sheer elan of the theatres and clubs and shopping, London is a world unto itself.

The UK has excellent transport network of domestic flights, coaches, and railways. There are ferries from Europe and Ireland and trains from France and Brussels via the Channel tunnel. London is the center of the UK rail network with seven major lines converging on the capital.

Climate

The weather is the main preoccupation of the British and with good reason - it's so unpredictable. The capricious nature of the weather can result in some surprises and it's wise to be prepared for anything. But on the whole, the climate is temperate. We'll start the journey by leaving London andheading north east to Norwich that will cover the first leg of the journey. Sonow we know where we are going, but do we have everything we need? But we'll be taking the scenic route toNorwich by going via Cambridge, so head for the A406 and take junction 4 ontothe M11 towards Cambridge. Follow the M11 until you reach junction 11 and thentake the A10/A1309 to Harston/Cambridge (S) and at the traffic circle you wantto take the 3^rd exit onto Hauxton Rd and that will take you straightinto Cambridge.

Once you arrive in Cambridge, you will mostlikely need some lunch (if not plan it so that you do) and that is handy,because there are some great little restaurants around town. Head over to The Cow for some great pizzasthat experiment with a variety of toppings to satisfy everyone's cravings! One ofthe combinations that caught my eye was the humus and poached eggs on spinach,and it was great, so try something different at The Cow, you won't regret it!

After lunch you should take some time to goand have a look at the beautiful campus buildings before moving along lateafternoon to Norwich. And that is where we'll pick it up again in the secondpart of our series. While you are travelling and in and out of the carregularly, make sure that you don't lose any of your important documents(breakdown cover, , driver's license, etc).
