[A740]Asthma Attack Home Remedies
by Alien, Ali
For some people asthma might not seem too serious of a disease. Although rarely fatal, it can be a very serious condition, especially in small children. Periods of acute breathlessness may occur at any time and last anywhere from less then an hour to days. At those periods the help of medical professionals might be necessary. For the times in between there are some proven herbal treatments and remedies that may also be helpful.

The diet of people with asthma should contain about 60% of fruit and vegetables.

Take 100 g of dry rose petals, 500 g of raw mashed pumpkin, 5-7 dry plantain leaves, 4 tbsp of honey and 1 L of red wine. Combine everything in a pot and bring to boil (do not boil). Let stand for 24 hours and filter, squeezing out juice from the mash. Take 1 tbsp 5-6 times a day. Repeat twice a year.

Mix together equal parts of coltsfoot, wild rosemary and plantain. Put 1 tbsp of the mix in a cup and add boiling water. Let stand for awhile. Drink 1/3 of a cup 3 times a day 30 min before meal.

Combine 100 g of grated horseradish and juice of 3 lemons. Take 1 tsp in the morning and afternoon. Do not eat or drink anything for 30 min after taking it. Juice of 10 lemons, juice of 10 heads of garlic and 1 L of honey mix together. Keep in dark place under tight lid for 1 week. Take 2 tbsp 3 times a day 30 min before meal.

300 g of honey, 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of crushed aloe leaf boil at low heat for 2 hours. Stir well and keep in cool place. Take 1 tbsp 3 times a day. Put 1 tbsp of eucalyptus leaves in 1/2 L of boiling water. Let stand for 20 min and drink 50-100 ml 3 times a day before meal.

Mix together equal parts of celery juice and honey, collected in May. Take 1 tbsp 4-5 times a day.

Collect 40 leaves of coltsfoot. Boil 1 leaf for 15 min in a cup of water. Drink in the morning before breakfast. Repeat for 40 days.

Add 5 mashed cloves of garlic to 100 g of butter and mix well. Eat like regular butter, spreading it on bread. Provides anti-bacterial effect. This asthma remedy can't be used by pregnant women.

5 g of dry crushed quince leaves put in 1 cup of boiling water and steep for 1 hour. Strain and take 2 tbsp 3-4 times a day before meal. The remedy can ease up asthma attack.

2 tbsp of mashed turnip put in 1 cup of boiling water and boil for 15 min. Filter and drink ? cup 4 times a day or 1 cup before bed.

Allergic asthma reactions are very real to me as I lost a friend growing up due to a sudden asthma attack. Asthma is a respiratory problem which more often than not is triggered by an allergen. There are other causes, of course however, the most obvious of all causes is allergy, an allergy to dust, to animal dander, to pollen in the air, to humidity, to cold, and so on.

What do you do when you suffer from an asthma attack caused by allergy? You would most likely carry an emergency inhaler which would help you breathe normal in no time, but the best would be to prevent the sudden attack by noticing and avoiding the allergen. In my friend's case this would have helped him survive because he did not have his inhaler with him at the time of the attack. As you can see it is very important to know what you are allergic to if you have asthma.

What About Allergic Asthma Home Remedies?

Since allergic asthma home remedies have been touted to be highly effective, I will describe a few very simple ones below, which are well tried and tested. I hope that you will benefit from these treatments as millions of others across the globe do too.

A change in diet is extremely effective in fighting any type of allergic asthma - try to implement as many of the foods listed below in your diet as possible:
* Soybeans
* Apples
* Lemons
* Oranges
* Figs
* Guava
* Bengal gram (black lentils)

You need these foods to provide you the much needed fiber that prevents constipation, which in turn prevents allergic asthma. Also include whole grains such as barley, maize and oatmeal into your diet. Since we are talking about diet, be informed that Vitamin E is another well known and tested allergic asthma home remedy.

You also need to know that among these remedies, some are very simple, yet they go unnoticed and unknown. For example, just having dinner some two hours before sunset can reduce asthma attacks by 90%.

Among the most famous allergic asthma home remedies is the raisin cure, this is one of the most effective and easy to do allergic asthma home remedies known to mankind. Take about 15-20 raisins and have them soaked in about 150 milliliters of water (a little less than a full glass); in the morning you will find that the raisins have become big, just like grapes. Take these swollen raisins and boil them in a cup (250 ml) of milk. Have this milk at least twice a day.

You will find great relief if you would take a little dry peel of a pomegranate and boil it in the milk along with two raisins and drink it every evening at bed time. For children less than one year old you could use a paste of about five to six leaves of basil and honey instead.

It is important that you avoid all the foods that cause phlegm such as:
* Rice
* Curd
* Lentils
* Banana

You should concentrate instead on eating beneficial foods such as prunes, berries, tomatoes, lettuce, beet root, orange, etc. If you follow the above recommendations and talk to your doctor about what your allergies are you should be able to avoid most future asthma attacks.

If you suffer from asthma you should still always have your inhaler with you anyway, just in case. This is especially important for children, like my friend who don't have a full understanding of asthma and what could trigger an attack.

Anytime you have any medical condition it is always best to fully educate yourself on what it is, what causes it, and how to prevent or deal with it both naturally and medically. That way you will be least affected by the condition and in a position to get rid of it or at least minimize its negative effects on your body.
