[K6]Karate Plus Martial Arts Personal Development Center
by Ab Van Deemter, Ab

There has been a time in my life that I was only chasing money and personal success through money.
For quite some time I managed to live a wealthy life with lots of so-called friends.
And although I had lots of fun during that time, I lost everything because I lacked a real important thing in my life:

- Personal Growth -

I forgot how important it is to work hard to become my very best me and to be able to live my full potential.

I thought that personal development came automatically, as long as I worked hard to earn more money.

My teacher and mentor Christopher Beaver – Telluride (CO) taught me how much more important it is to constantly ask myself: “Who have I become", instead of “What do I have".

He taught me that what I become in life is directly related to what I get.

So, I had to learn to accept that what ever I had that day (which was nothing anymore by the time I met him) I had attracted by what I had become by that day.

In other words: before I lost everything, my income in my life had taken a lucky jump and since I had not learned to handle the responsibilities that come with it, it had shrunk back to the amount that I could handle.

So, I learned that

- To Get More Than You Have, You Have To Become More Than You Are

So, are you consciously working on your personal development?

If not, I suggest you start taking some action today!

In today's world of ?buy, buy, buy? and ?do, do, do?, it's not hard to see why so many people are stressed out, burned out, generally feeling empty inside. We race around from one obligation to the next and rarely have time anymore to work on things like self-growth. Somehow, life has become a frantic sprint to the finish line, and the days of taking time for slow walks and introspection seem to be a thing of the past. As one apt bumper sticker stated, ?I am MORE than my To-Do List. Maybe.?

More and more people, however, are starting to realize that personal development really does need to be a priority if they want to have a happy, healthy life. This life is so precious, and so short. Are we going to look back and regret all the things we didn't get done on our ?To Do? list? Just about everyone would say ?NO? to that one! Yes, the bills need to be paid and the errands run, but LIFE needs to happen too! That's why the personal development field has been growing in leaps and bounds in recent years. People want to take their life back, and they want the opportunity to realize their full potential. They want to understand their heart and have the ability to listen when it speaks. There's no doubt that we are beginning to realize that without personal development, it's all too easy to turn into empty shells that are unhappy and unfulfilled. And life is way too short to live it that way!

If you'd like to start working on your own personal development you might be wondering where on earth to start. Well, thanks to the growth of this area in our society there are plenty of places you can visit to start getting some great information.

Thanks to the awesome power of the Internet it's now possible to have the world at your fingertips with the click of a mouse. There are literally millions of resources online that you can tap into if you're interested in personal development. There are free newsletters published every day that are informative and inspirational, and newsletters can be a great step in your search for personal development.

Reading in general is a great way to focus your attention and help you start realizing what areas of your life you need to work on. Personal development is never a ?one-time? thing, but rather a journey on a path that twists and turns. Books can help you focus on one issue at a time, and help you understand how your limiting beliefs can be affecting the way you see the world. They're great for taking on specific issues and going into a great deal of depth.

Life Coaching is a relatively new phenomenon, and millions of people are realizing just how life changing having a personal coach can be. Working one-on-one with a Life Coach can help you move forward towards your goals much faster than you would just working alone. Life Coaches help you define what your goals and dreams are, which are the most important to start with, and then they help you work out a plan to get there. During each coaching session, through a detailed questioning process, they can help you break down some internal barriers you might not even realize you have and help you realize that you really can do anything you set your mind to.

There are also plenty of e-courses that can help you work on personal development and realizing your dreams. The advantages to using an e-course is that they're often much less expensive than working one-on-one with a Life Coach, and you can work them into your schedule as you have time. You can move at your own pace, and take a class when you're ready for the next step.

As you can see there are more opportunities than ever for self-discovery and personal development. Some people have combined personal development with a business opportunity and are currently living the life of their dreams. Other folks don't feel that spending time on ?themselves? really has any benefit, but if you take the time to truly turn inward and examine what's there it can transform your life in ways you can't imagine. In today's busy, hectic world it's more important than ever that we be grounded and centered, and live a life that's rewarding and that enables us to see our true potential. Devote the time to personal development and your life will never be the same.
