[J134]Just My Size Jeans
by Eric Menzies Menzies, Eri
Ladies think that shopping for plus size jeans is harder than it is shopping for jeans that aren't plus size. The truth is that all women have problems finding great jeans, no matter what shape and size they are. It is a fact that jeans are notoriously hard to find, at least jeans that fit well and look great. Sure you could squeeze into a pair of jeans and they might even look okay, but will they feel okay or will you be miserable all day long? Shopping for plus size jeans does not have to be a battle; for those out there who need a bit of extra help finding the perfect pair of jeans for their body, here are a few things that you should keep in mind the next time you go out jean shopping.

Don't assume that you must wear baggy jeans just because you are a plus sized woman. Always keep in mind that plus sized and oversized are not synonymous terms. Learn to love your body instead of constantly trying to hide it. While you body may not be perfect, whose really is? Trying to hide your hips and legs behind baggy jeans only makes you look frumpy, and make you look bigger, too. There are different jean types for different bodies, and you should find jeans that fit your body. Talk to a professional, or even consider having your jeans professionally tailored for the perfect fit.

We've all heard the old wives' tale that wearing black makes us look slimmer. This adage may hold true for people who aren't over weight, but it does little for a plus size figure trying to wear a pair of black jeans. There are certain colors that you should definitely wear because they go well with your skin tones and flatter your face, but to look slimmer, you need to concentrate on tailoring, cut and style instead of color. As hard as it may be to break with the popular notion of always buying black, it really isn't always the best choice. It's only one choice out of many colors of plus size jeans on the market.

As with everything else, each individual has specific items that are better suited to their frame. This aphorism also applies to denim pants and skirts. Look at yourself in the mirror, or even better, go to a tailor. Take note of where your mass rests, and what sort of plus sized jeans will compliment your frame. Think about what pieces you can reveal, and which should be covered.

Some always find it hard to find plus size jeans. But, it can be made easier with a little effort put into searching for the most flattering plus size jeans for your body. Be very careful in your search and never hesitate to try out new designers. It will pay off well at the end of the day.

Supplying the gold miners over a hundred years ago, Levi Strauss began their wholesale business by making blue jeans that were tough and hard to wear out. Now blue jeans have become the world's most popular piece of clothing because of their comfort and adaptability.

Plus size shoppers often have difficulty finding jeans that are both fashionable and comfortable. Usually they are too snug in the legs or the waistband digs into the stomach area. The perfect pair of jeans can visually elongate the legs and trim the hips. That is, once you learn to choose jeans for your individual body type.

The first thing to look for in plus size jeans is "stretch". Many plus size jeans are now made from a stretch material, which means the fabric will give a little. Made of a cotton/poly/spandex blend, the fabric floats on your body and stretches only when and where you need it to. Stretch jeans provide the ultimate in comfort and give great shape to your body. The longer you wear stretch jeans, the more they will stretch out, which can help you feel more comfortable throughout the day.

Examine the "mid-rise" qualities of your plus size jeans. The very popular "low rise" cut of jeans look wonderful on someone who doesn't have curves, but plus-size individuals should avoid low-rise styles. These styles do not flatter larger waists, hips, or thighs. Low-cut jeans will unflatteringly expose your midriff and make it look like you are spilling out of your jeans. Plus-size people agree that low-rise jeans are generally not comfortable to wear.

Classic cut jeans (called mid-rise cut jeans) are much more appealing and attractive and will help you stay stylish while allowing you to stay covered and comfortable. Classic cut jeans sit just below the waist and have a straight leg from the hip all the way down to the floor. This will give a plus size woman's body a long, lean look.

Do not buy plus size jeans with elaborate designs such as embroidery, fancy stitches, or severe fading. You want to get solid, dark wash jeans that will last and will go well with any outfit you want to wear.

Individuals who are plus size, need a wider pant leg to balance out their body. Choose a classic five-pocket design in a dark shade.

Now jeans can be worn with any dressup or dress-down outfit, with any footwear from sneakers to high heels. They provide almost infinite options for your wardrobe with their numerous colors and fabrics.

When shopping for any plus-sized clothing, including jeans, be sure to check the fabric's quality of stretch and rise. Once you find a pair of plus-sized jeans that fit and look the best on you, it's worth your while to buy more than one pair, because they will not only make you look better, but they will make you feel great, too.
