by Groshan Fabiola, Gro
There are many available options of Kaiser Permanente health insurance plans to choose from. Depending on your particular needs, there will be different options to choose from. When looking for medical health insurance, certain considerations will affect what plan works best for you. For example, you should think about how much you want to spend on a particular Kaiser Permanente health insurance plan as well as how much coverage you are looking for. Things like this will determine what your best option is.

First, you should get an idea of what type of coverage you are looking for through Kaiser Permanente health insurance. Depending on the type of coverage you are looking for, there will be different plans that will accommodate. In other words, not all Kaiser Permanente health insurance plans will be able to cover all of your needs. In these situations, you need to think about what you will end up having to pay for. The less you have to pay out of pocket, the better the plan will be.

The costs of Kaiser Permanente health insurance will include things like co-payments, prescriptions, emergency medical care, etc. In some situations, there might be some coverage, but a lot of times these are the out of pocket expenses that are required by you. The less out of pocket expenses you have, the better your Kaiser Permanente health insurance is.

As most Kaiser Permanente health insurance members already know, KP offers a wealth of online health resources to insurance members. Now members with chronic conditions have access to even more online health tools to effectively manage their health with three new programs for people with diabetes, depression and insomnia. These will be joining a list of other current resources, known as Healthy Lifestyle Programs, which provide numerous tools for patients with chronic conditions to get the help they need. All Kaiser Permanente health insurance members have access to these resources on the World Wide Web.
Although the Healthy Lifestyle Programs are still very new, hundreds of thousands of members have already accessed them. From Kaiser Permanente Northern California to Kaiser Permanente Denver to Kaiser Permanente Atlanta GA, the feedback has been extremely positive. A whopping 78 percent of members who have used the site's pain management program say they felt improvement within 30 days, 55 percent of members who have used the weight management program lost weight within six months, and 52 percent of smoking cessation program participants had still not smoked after six months.
The diabetes, depression and insomnia programs have only been available since October, but the response from Kaiser Permanente health insurance members has already been extremely positive. Approximately 94 percent of members using the new diabetes program report a better ability to manage their condition, 82 percent report a better ability to communicate with their doctors, and 77 percent report an improvement in their medication habits.
These new Kaiser Permanente health insurance programs are joining a plethora of existing tools that make it easier for patients to connect with doctors and other health experts through the Internet. All members can access this program through Kaiser's My Health Manager system, which is a personal electronic health record database where patients can also email their doctors, refill prescriptions, schedule or cancel appointments, and check lab results.
