Thinking of becoming an electrician? If you are considering the career of an electrician you have made a good decision. Electricians are always in demand, the job pays well, the environment they work in tends to be a good one most of the time and the job is stable. Before attempting to work with electricity make sure you understand how to work with it safely. Community colleges offer electrician training courses that will help you understand the fundamentals of electricity as well as some of the core requirements that you will need to function as an electrician. Community colleges have a low credit hour rate and the classes tend to be offered at times that are convenient for people who have to work and go to school.

Most people who become electricians have attended a trade school to learn what is needed to be a licensed electrician. Trade schools are probably the most common source of electrician training courses and are an excellent source of education. These course will be very specific to electrical work and if you wish to specialize in a particular area of electrical work they will likely offer a course in the topic of interest. Often, trade schools will be able to help place you in a job that is in the field you are studying, in this case as an electrician's apprentice. Taking trade school education and working as an apprentice will give you a very well rounded education and skill set. There is not a better to learn the concepts and skills required to be an electrician, remain safe and provide a valuable service.

Electricians are always in demand. They work on new construction, repair existing installations, provide updates to existing construction and help to keep existing electrical work safe and efficient. The environment that electricians work in tends to be varied but is normally dry and warm which can not always be said for many of the other trades that are associated with new construction.

The National Council for Work Experience, which is committed to creating the best possible career paths for graduates throughout the United Kingdom, recently announced the establishment of a new quality, or ?kite,? marks for graduate work experiences. Called the Excellence in Work Experience program, this new program will assess and analyze how entry level graduate jobs and student work help graduates prepare for future career plans. The new program will start at 2,500 to 3,000 pounds for participating companies, which includes advisory time, assessment services, and accreditation over the three years of this program. This new evaluation program is available to any UK recruiting company that offers jobs to students and recent graduates.

The biggest problem facing university students and graduates once they leave school is how their past job experiences relate to open graduate jobs throughout the United Kingdom. With this new quality mark, employers and employees alike can see how past positions and performance will fit in with open jobs. This common standard for work experience helps university graduates, who often have to creatively explain how their skills will fit in with a variety of positions. As well, the Excellence in Work Experience program helps companies strengthen their relationship with universities throughout the United Kingdom and improve the work experience for student workers.

For the aforementioned fee, the National Council for Work Experience will provide evaluation, enforcement, and strategic guidance. The evaluation process involves advisors comparing the expectations and realities of a company's student work experience and standards set by the Council. Several criteria are involved in this evaluation, including commitment to the work experience by the employer, the effectiveness of the company's recruitment and placement methods, and the evaluation and mentoring process by company personnel toward students.

The Council also has created a code of practices that needs to be adhered to by participating companies. One requirement of companies under this code is the creation of appropriate job descriptions, so that graduates understand the job duties they are responsible for in their positions. As well, companies need to offer a contract of employment laying out the various requirements and regulations enforced on a daily basis. Finally, companies need to adhere to safety and health regulations in order to continue on in the program. However, managers and executives are not left to their own devices to meet program requirements. The Council provides strategic guidance to help companies exceed these standards of workplace excellence.
