[L80]Laser Printer Ink Cartridges
by Martin Brinkmann, Mar
The toner is charged positive and sticks to the negative charge of the laser. When paper goes through the printer, the drum has a negative charge. The finished results involves the printer fusing a paper over a belt with hot rollers.

A laser printer is known for being more quiet and prints faster than ordinary printers. Laser printers have been used for the business and home since 1984.

Laser printer ink is the ink powder used in laser printers to create images and text. A laser printer ink toner is usually about 9-12 inches wide. Laser printer ink is usually black called the standard monochrome laser printer.

However, it may also be magenta, yellow and cyan. Colored ink is more costly. The toner cartridge contains the toner, an imaging component and a waste container.

Higher quality laser printers separate the different parts of the cartridge so each part can be replaced as needed. Most laser printer ink toner cartridge contains a sensor which lets the user know when the printer is empty or is low on ink.

However, sometimes, laser printers frustrate consumers because they register empty when there is still ink left. A solution to this is covering the printer ink sensor allowing the sensor to think the toner cartridge has been replaced.

When a laser printer needs ink replacement, a consumer has the option of using the following: OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) toner cartridges: These are the ink powder created by the manufacturing company and is the most expensive. They are also guaranteed to work with the printer.

Compatible Toner Cartridges: These are the toner cartridges created by a different manufacturer usually a company that is generic. However, some brand name printer manufacturers may also manufacture toner cartridges for a different brand of laser printer.

Compatible toner cartridges have the same quality as the new cartridges. It is also cheaper and will not make the printer warranty void.

Remanufactured toner cartridges or recycled toner cartridges are used but restored at a manufacturing factory. An empty cartridge is returned to a company. Most manufacturers accept the cartridge at no extra charge.

The factory then cleans it and refills the cartridge with new toner ink. They are tested so that they offer the same quality as new cartridge. They are cheaper than buying new cartridges.

Toner Refills are the least expensive. They are sold as kits so that the consumer can refill the cartridge. They come with a step by step instructions.
