This Saturday there will be plenty of afternoon football and during the early evening. Hopefully, I'll have a few bucks in the piggy bank by dinner from all the football betting. The good thing about Saturdays when you live on the East Coast is that there are always 2 or 3 late night games, to even the slate, or pad the bankroll even further.

This weekend is no exception as we have four 10:00 EST games and they are all very intriguing matchups. Out in the desert where nobody sleeps, the Nevada Wolf Pack and the UNLV Running Rebels will battle for the Fremont Cannon. Nevada is the visiting favorite after knocking off Colorado State and Northwestern at home, while UNLV has lost two straight to Iowa State and Hawaii.

I like the home side here and will be clicking on my favorite Saturday evening to plunk down some cabbage. UNLV has had two weeks to get ready for this rivalry game and this could be the coming out party for junior college transfer QB Rocky Hinds. Nevada has a good pivot in Jeff Rowe, but there are doubts about his health. The point spread has been dropping all week and the money is all on the home side.

In Fresno, California Saturday night, the Bulldogs will be in a foul mood for several reasons. They were nipped by the Huskies in Washington two weeks ago, just seven days after an emotional tilt with the highly ranked Oregon Ducks that also resulted in a loss. Now the Rams of Colorado State come calling and they laid a sound beating on Fresno last year in Ft. Collins.

The line opened at -10 and quickly jumped to -13 as the Rams don't look that talented this year. The one nice thing for Colorado St. bettors is that they have had two weeks rest after their loss at Nevada.

If grabbing lots of points is your nature then Stanford is your team against UCLA this weekend. The Cardinals, however, are horrible and the line that opened at -20, is now available at +23-24 for you puppy lovers. Walt Harris's team is awful, although UCLA is a terrible bet when laying points 5-21-1 against teams with losing records.

The final late night game available for wagering is in Tucson, Arizona where the surprising Washington Huskies take on Mike Stoops Wildcats. The visitors got a huge win over UCLA last week and have knocked off Fresno as well. Arizona's offense is reeling after scoring just 3 points against USC and 3 against LSU.

The betting line opened with the host -1 and now has moved to -3!
