[L412]Little Is Known About
by Steve Driskill, Ste
There are several main types of Hyperhidrosis. Plantar hyperhidrosis is the excess of sweat in the foot area and it's close cousin is palmer hyperhidrosis, which involves the palms of the hands. Auxillary hyperhidrosis is the condition of excessive underarm persperation. Facial blushing is just that, excessive blushing of the face but in a very extreme and often humiliating.

Hyperhidrosis in the "plantar" form is usually treated with botulinum toxin type A injections. Treatments include surgery and radiotherapy. This condition is characterized by excessive sweating that occurs in up to 1% of the population. Hyperhidrosis sufferers are prevented from wearing certain fabrics and colors because the sweat causes staining and rotting of the clothing. Facial blushing victims avoid people of authority or speaking in front of the class, all actions that would evoke the redness. What is known as palmer hyperhidrosis is a sign of an overactive nervous system. Doctors and nurses should disclose ALL side effects prior to surgery or any other treatment.

Excessive facial blushing is due to over activity of the sympathetic nerves. Doctors have found that "supercharged" nerves cause excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis in the "plantar" form is the presence of excessive foot sweating in resting conditions at room temperature. Treatments include surgery.Cases of palmerhyperhydrosis is a distressing, idiopathic condition that predominantly affects adolescents. This disorder is the condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature.

Sufferers of this condition and their families don't need to suffer in silence or isolation any more. What is known as palmer hyperhidrosis sufferers often seek treatment when the condition causes them a great deal of distress. Doctors and nurses should disclose ALL side effects prior to surgery or any other treatment.Facial blushing sufferers may develop phobias or social anxiety syndromes. The disorder is a commonly misunderstood condition, and frankly, it's not a high profile medical condition such as heart disease, cancer or diabetes. What is known as plantar hyperhidrosis can, however, only be cured by Lumbar Sympathectomy, an open abdominal procedure.

The most common treatment for any form of hyperhidrosis is Botox injections. This form of treatment is
relatively quick painless and inexpensive. However, a very common side effect is that the excess sweat
will reappear on another part of the body!

This is hardly a "cure" and at best only a temporary treatment. Botox , which is famous for it's "non-surgical facelift" status seems to be the treatment of choice for this terrible and terribly humiliating condition, even thought it is only a quick cover up.

Will there ever be a permamnent cure? The scariest thing about this condition called Hyperhidrosis is probably how misunderstood it is within the medical profession. Botox is a reletively new concoction from a medical point of view (less than 12 years old), so there really may be a permanent cure just around the corner. But the likelyhood of the chances of that being great, are not so good.

Nestled on the balmy waters of the Andaman Sea on the Indian Ocean, Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, with roughly the size of Singapore. Located about 850 km south of Bangkok, Phuket is truly an exceptional tourist destination, blessed with lush tropical landscape, palm fringed powdery white sandy beaches, splendid coves and bays, dazzling island-dotted sea, and delightful turn of the century edifices.

Also, popular are Karon and Kata beaches, both of them with a fine mix of natural and man made attractions. Other worth mentioning beaches in the area are Kamala Beach, Nakalay Beach, Kalim Beach, Kata Noi Beach, Yanoi Beach, Nui Beach, and Ao Sehn beach.
