[L165]Learn From The Great Teacher
by Mike Makler, Mik

Last Week I did a Search Engine Experiment. I wanted to see if I could brand myself as the coolest guy in the universe. I created a web page that said Mike Makler is the coolest Guy in the Universe. In that Web Page I repeated that Phrase over and over. In less then 24 Hours I was Number 1 in Yahoo for the Phrase coolest Guy in the Universe in Double Quotes. A Few hours later I was no where to be found in Yahoo.

So I then created a few more web pages did a few more blog entries and not only was I back to #1 in Yahoo But I had the top 3 Spots and the 5th Spot in Yahoo as Well. Searching on the same Keyword Phrase in MSN I have the 2nd Spot and 4 total spots on the First Page.

Now if you run the exact same search in Google "coolest Guy in the Universe" don't forget the Double Quotes Not only am I not on the First Page of the Results but I am nowhere in sight on the first 4 or 5 Pages. You will also notice that the entries on the first few pages in Google tend to be very different for The Keyword Phrase the coolest Guy in the Universe. They tend to be more Commercial oriented. RandomHouse, Amazon and the BBC all Appear in the top 5 Results. They all have Google Page Rank values of 8 or 9.

This experiment seems to point to the fact that Google seems to stress Linking and Link Partners over Key Word Density in there search Criteria. An Alternative conclusion might be that Google is slower to index then Yahoo and MSN and Perhaps I just need to be patient. One would be more inclined to believe that 2nd conclusion if some of the other entries from Yahoo and MSN appeared in Google as opposed to those High Page Rank Ones.

An iPhone is a new generation mobile phone with features like Internet connectivity, camera phone, music player, touch screen, Safari and YouTube.

Apple Inc. made one more punch in the technology market by introducing iPhone, which is a mobile phone with Internet connectivity, in addition to various other technological features. After being announced as the Invention of the year 2007 by the Time Magazine, an iPhone 3G was released in June 2008 which supported 3G standard of phones and included assisted GPS.

An iPhone 3G can support HSDPA and UMTS but not HSUPA network. The functions of an iPhone include those of an iPod, camera phones, visual voice mailing, and text messaging. The Internet services provided by iPhones include e-mailing, local WiFi connecting and web browsing. With virtual buttons and keyboard, the multi-touch screen has nominal input of hardware components. The users can zoom in and zoom out of the photos by pinching and unpinching them through its multi-touch interface.

The applications that dock to the screen base delineate the main purposes of the iPhone: Mail, Phone, iPod and Safari. The ?Home screen? features various applications that are SMS, calendar, camera, photos, YouTube, Maps, Stocks, Weather, Calculator, Clock, iTunes, Notes and Settings. An iPhone is not just a mobile phone but also comes with an iPod on which videos as well as music can be played on its big screen.

The music library layout is similar to that of an iPod with larger fonts and sections divided alphabetically. Just like an iPod nano, an iPhone may sort the media library by artists, songs, albums, playlists, videos, genres, podcasts, composers, compilations, and audiobooks. An iPhone allows call holding, audio conferencing, caller ID, call emerging, and integrating with other features and functions of cellular network. Scrolling can be done by swiping your finger on the screen.

An iPhone also supports the gapless playback feature and allows the users to download a song from iTunes Store right on their iPhone. By default, an iPhone will ask the users to join Wi-Fi network and in order to unlock it, the users will have to enter a password.

The voice mailing function of an iPhone has many advanced features like the voice messages are displayed right on the screen of your phone and you can scroll up or down to whichever message you want to hear. Initially, an iPhone was only sold with SIM lock but hackers have discovered methods to unlock it and even sell unlocked phones. Earlier, you had to call into the voice mail number a listen to all the messages even if they are unimportant.

The Safari web browsing facility available on an iPhone enables the users to access Internet allowing them to view the web pages in landscape as well portrait mode and supporting automatic zoom. Photos can also be uploaded, viewed, and e-mailed through an iPhone. The software program can interact with the iPhoto on Photoshop as well as Mac. Mac OSX can be available in different languages including Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Korean in addition to Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. Apple also provides a specialized version of OSX on three of the devices produced by it: iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple TV.
