[L167]Learn How To Draw Comics
by Mike Grafos, Mik
It could be a great idea to exploit your inner artistic abilities and prove yourself that it may not be as hard as you thought it would be. So, if you are up to the task, you will initially need to create a draft of the story and a brief profile of the characters you are going to place into the story. Then, you need to decide which design method you are going to use, drawing by hand or digital drawing on your pc.

If you choose to go digital, you can find a few comic design tools with some great features that will help you accomplish your task especially if your artistic abilities are not so great. Most notably, Toon Boom Studio by Toon Boom Animation Inc is a great piece of software to start with, especially if you have a drawing tablet like Wacom.

If you prefer to use the traditional method of pencil and paper you can start by making the outline of your first page, the scenery and the texts. You will need paper, a set of quality pencils with different graphite types and some pen markers will also come in handy for the outlines. For a little practice, you can get a comic and try to copy it to start finding how your hand flows over the paper. Completing each page will take time and will require a significant amount of concentration and imagination but you will be proud of yourself as the work progresses.

Imagine the day that you finish your first comic (or even issue) and show it to your friends. Wait a minute, why don't you include them in the story as well? This way you could give out a copy to each of your friends and for sure this will be something to remember.
